Matching the top 2 seeds in pretty hard.

I do expect that UK (top #1 seed) will be matched with either Marquette or Duke, and Pittsburgh (weakest #1) will be matched with the top #2--I think the comittee will edge out Kansas over Texas because Kansas won the regular season titled and won an extra turney game.

What will be interesting is to see if they match 2 of the 3 Big 12 powers in the same region--which make sense do to power rankings, or do they send 1 out west to Arizona's bracket for conference/regional balance. I'll be pissed if they send Texas out west as the #2 and let OU play the easier leftover from Marq/Duke--but they might.

In other words if they go for regional/conference balance the 1-2s will probably be--
E (Pitt #1, Kan #2)
SE (UK #1, Duke #2)
MW (OU #1, Marq #2)
W (UA #1, UT #2)

If the focus is on match-ups based on 1-8 rankings and given the highest ranking team priority locations and match-ups it will be--
SE (Pitt #1, Kan #2)
E (UK #1, Duke #2)
MW (OU #1, Texas #2)
W (UA #1, Marq #2)

Texas put itself in a not so good position by 1) losing in the first round of their turney and 2) allowing OU to win the turney. Those events probably lead them to be the 3rd Big 12 rep because of these 3 really equally qualified teams they are the only one with neither a regular season nor post-season conference turney--thus I think Kansas and OU gets the edge. I am not pleased, but I think that will be the case.
