Well, guys, it pains me say that my dog just passed away. He was hit by a van in the street and the driver didn't even stop. My dog darted past my hand when I tried to stop him. Our gate was broken and couldn't close it. I feel terrible and my wife feels even worse. It's amazing what kind of effect a little dog can have on you. It was a Rat terrier/chihihiua. His name was "Rocket Medrano" RIP+. Tim
So sorry, Tim. I lost a cat recently and have lost far too many over the years. It's never easy. RIP Rocket.
Sorry to hear that man. I know how much it hurts. Our dog of 15years died 2 years ago. It hurt for quite a while. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=100157
Sorry for your loss. RIP Rocket. I'm not clear what the driver was thinking...probably just a prick (assuming the driver knew they hit a dog). I've been in those situations where my dogs just dart out in the road. It's scary when your worst fear happens. My parental unit has hit two dogs in those scenarios. It's very sad regardless of whose dog it is.
Cool a free post! "Sorry for your loss Bro... Gah, I'm going to be heartbroken for so long when my current dog dies. " From the other thread.
oh, this chokes me up. I had a gf's dog dart out of my hands while I was sitting, petting him in her front yard...to his demise as well. it's so sad. i'm sorry.... do you have a picture of Rocket?
Sorry for your loss. I bet it's harder to get over dogs than it is cats... I buried the last (Zeke) of my three original cats back in early August. A few weeks later, each of my two daughters picked out a new kitten to go with our 1 YO cat, Ozzie. Angel and Alex. At this point, we have three orange tabby cats in our household. Alex was the runt of the litter and died mysteriously the third night. Alex was my 5YO (youngest) daughter's pet. When we found Alex dead, we told her and she cried for about three minutes and asked when she could get another kitten. We buried Alex on Friday and headed out of town for the weekend. On Monday we went and got her new kitten, Sunshine. Well Sunshine lasted for about 12 days. We found her behind a china cabinet on a Saturday night laboring to breathe. I took her to the emergency vet clinic and they recommended that we put Sunshine to sleep as she was suffering from some fast-moving viral or bacterial infection. They seemed to think that her death had been inevitable. My youngest daughter had a predaliction for picking out the youngest and weakest animal in the litter. Back we go for another kitten. Now we have Blueberry who is a beautiful bluish-grey-and-tan Calico. She is very sweet and friendly. And healthy.
my parents had my dog put to sleep two weeks ago and didn't tell me until after they did it. my best friend since I was 7 and i didn't get to say goodbye. His health was failing at 13, but just a couple days before he died he was jumping around and acting like a puppy. this gave me hope and i assured my parents that he wasn't doing too bad. they were just saying "well, i don't know..." then they drop a bomb like that right when i start college again. pissed me off so much. i still cry every time i think about him. Seems like a bad dream. taffy, RIP.
I am so sorry. I lost a cat last year and it broke my heart. I replaced her with 2 kittens from the SPCA and then lost one a month later to parasites and then found another. Find another. Good pets love you and make a home complete.
Damn, man that sucks. I was just walking my dog the other day when it escaped from its collar since it kind of loose. It ran all the way into the street, but luckily there were no cars around. I was able to get it back, but my heart panicked for 30 seconds or so.
sorry to hear that. someone killed my dog many years ago and it hurt me for a long time.i know how u feel.
Sorry to hear that, Tim. It may be difficult to move on quickly when a pet passes away, but there are many, many dogs and cats out there in shelters who are in need of good homes. Getting a new animal who will completely put it's trust in you for it's well-being may be the best for both of you. My two cats are still young (3 yrs each), but when one of their days comes, I wouldn't hesitate to bring another home.
Sorry to hear this, Tim. Surf - what do you mean by "my parental unit has hit 2 dogs"? It has been one week since my parents put down their black and white cocker, Rex. He was 11 and had been suffering quite a bit of pancreatic pain. The vet diagnosed it as pancreatic cancer. My father just didn't want to see him suffer so he made the decision (took my mom awhile to be okay with it) to put him down. Luckily, I got to see him one last time (saw him on Labor Day) but I could tell he wasn't right and the end was near. I loved him so much! I still find it hard to believe that Rex is gone! I can't type anything else as I find it too hard to do so.
