    Lawyers, cops, HR personel......

Is there anywhere I can pick up my record of misdemeanors (MIPs, Possession of fake ID, etc) ? I am applying for a job and while they dont care about what happened back in 1990, they do want it to be as ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE.

I know I got 2 MIPs at age 20 and also fake ID bust, but honestly, I cannot recall if they were tossed out or when they occured.

What? They can't afford to do it themselves?

If I get anything wrong on it, its considered a lie.

Its a Wall Street gig and I have to get SEC approval, etc.

call the county court house...they can pretty much tell you anything. If you got the tickets in the early 90s your record is probably clean. MIPs mean nothing...I would check on the fake ID charge though.

I called the Carthage Police Dept and they were less than helpful. They said something about most Class C misdemeanors were not worth the effort of sending to the state records dept and that they may not have filed it.

    Backwater towns suck.

This made me think, we should all get a copy of our FBI files, and post the results.

I'm NASD licensed with a few of those, myself when I was 19 and 20.

DO NOT ADMIT THEM. They don't show up.:)

A couple of years ago, I found a website that allowed you, for a fee, to pull up criminal records and other public data. Now that I think about it, it was called PublicData.com. I don't know how complete the information on the site is, though.

I pulled my criminal record there, and it only contained stuff from one county, and I'm pretty sure I have stuff in at least one other county (possibly Tarrant County since, when my wife left me back in '93, she took all the money out of the bank account, and I ended up bouncing a couple of checks and just leaving town. Years later, I had to go to court to get them cleared, and I think part of that was pleading guilty to theft by check).

One of the interesting things I learned when I pulled the record at Public Data was that I have an alias. As it turns out, someone along the line misspelled my last name, so instead of correcting that, the misspelling is listed as an alias.

So, I guess if I'm ever wanted, they'll put my 'alias' on the wanted poster, and I'll look like an idiot for thinking "Palge" is a good alias for a guy named "Paige"

publicdata.com is a good place to start....but i don't know how reliable it is. it says my current address is the address i had in 1997. has a lot of very dated information. but this website is used by employers, so whatever is up there is what may be seen by the company you're hoping hires you.

or hire a private investigator to see what he comes up with.

Yeah but I hear Goldman Sachs does an intense background check and I dont want to blow this gig over something as dumb as an possession charge (class C misdemeanor)

That is fine, but I wouldn't. How many did you have?

My dad went through the attorneys at Exxon (sorry-bigger than GS) to find out about me. None came up. Class "C" misdemeanors don't show up. If they were bigger than that, tell. Otherwise, don't.

Sorry, lawyers at Seariver, or Exxon Shipping.

After Hazelwood, I'd think they'd have a VERY investigative report.

    They don't show up.
