They broke my coffee pot this morning. I think I know which one did it. Another one tried to wake me up from 7-8, meowing and banging on my door. This is the one that doesn't really care for me btw. I thought cats were low maintenance and mellow, but they are very needy. They always get on my kitchen counter when they know I don't appreciate this.

I kind of feel like I have to give them away, but I don't know who would want 3 cats 8 months to 1 1/2 years. I don't feel I can deal with them anymore. Oh, they also fight all the time and the female one hisses at the males constantly.

Could I drop them off at the Humane Society Center? I feel so guilty, but breaking my coffee pot was the last straw.

Maybe they're just excited about the wedding tonight?

they'll stop fighting. you need a water pistol.

they'll stop living if you take them to the Human Society.

I don't mean to be rude, but they are yours...find a new home for them or deal with it. Don't pass the buck to Society....they will be euthanized.

Are they from the same litter? If so, break them up. Give two away. Put up a sign, you'll find a home. The remaining cat will become attached to you and behave.

Your cats are still young. They're almost always very active and rambunctious (especially when there's more than one of them) until at least two years of age or so.

I can't tell you how many things have been broken in our house by the cats -- it just comes with the territory. I'm sorry they broke your coffee pot, but I'm pretty sure it can be easily replaced.

There are lots of things you can do to cat-proof your home, but I get the feeling your decision to give them away has already been made. Please try to look at other options before you resort to the Humane Society, where your cats will very likely be euthanized.

I know I know. It's killing me though. I care for them and all, but they just don't listen. They know when they do wrong, they still do it. Theyve torn my couch up, but I didn't care. I bought them a scratching post, but they still use the couch. Guess I'm stuck with them.

#1 Cats never listen. They're cats -- they're not trainable with voice commands like dogs.

#2 Put clear packing tape on your couch where you don't want them to scratch and sprinkle catnip on the post where you do want them to scratch. They'll figure it out.

Do what my friend did, wrap them in towels and throw them down the sewer. Hey, that's more humane than what those Baylor baseball players did a couple years ago to the Taco Cabana cat.

Thanks. I was starting to think it was a different poster who named his cats that.

No. I first started with one (Frasier), I thought it was a male. I didn't know how to tellthem apart initially. Well, when I was picking her out, the guy told me "make sure you don't pick the female, she's skittish." Well, she has grown to love me, but she's needy as hell.

I got the second one (niles) because I felt guilty about leaving Frasier home alone. He's a sweet cat, and if I were to keep one, it would be him. Niles and Frasier make cat #3 (tyrone). He was born on MLK day, so I think he's 9 months. Surly little ****er, that one. He's the one that insists on waking me up early.

Niles and Frasier are nuetered/fixed now. Should have done it sooner, but didn't realize they were of the opposite sex. Should have known about her. Her female personality traits are very apparent.

Apparently, I have no choice but to keep them. I don't want to put up a sign and all that stuff. I'd feel sort of guilty. If that's the only humane way, then I have no choice. Guess I'll sweep up that coffee pot now. :( I'm just frustrated.
