I have 2 cousins over there...One in the Marines (B. King), and one in the army (R. Espinoza) If circumstances were different I'd be there with you guys...When we were kids, we played b-ball a lot, unfortunately as you get older you tend to lose touch with extended family...I haven't seen one in 2 years and the other I haven't seen in 6 years...we are'nt close, but they are still blood,...they are still family,...Now they are in the company of a closer "extended" family: There fellow troops... I wish them all the best and I am proud of these guys!
Our prayers are with your family members and the rest of the troops and innocent civilians over there. May it be a bloodless coupe. DD
My uncle will ship out to Iraq or Korea in the next month. Probably Baghdad though. He is in the army. My prayers are with all that are over there and/or will be over there.
My Cousin is on a carrier in the Northeast, but isn't poised to head over there. He can be called to do so at any time though and he works on the carrier decks which is a very dangerous place to be. My aunt works for the US state department and i'm quite worried about her. She works more with immigration and is leaving Washington to be posted in Kenya and maybe another African nation. I've always been worried that she would be in an embassy when someone attacked it, similar to the Al-Queda attacks years back in Africa. She was in the Embassy in Islamabad and Pakistan in 2000 and 2001, but fortunately wasn't there when a bomb went off nearby. I commend both of them as well as Treeman and others who are risking their lives in fighting for this country and our freedoms. Though I may not agree with many about some of our international policies, I have always respected the honor and valor of fighting for the USA!! Good Luck!!
Good luck to our troops and British allies. I hope they can end it quickly and come back safe to their families.
I don't have family, but plenty of friends who I know are in the military, but I don't know where exactly they are. My highschool buddy Gerard and guy who was like a mentor for me at my school named Jarrod are in the Navy. A guy I knew from Highschool who left A&M and joined the military last year without telling me named Eddie. Some of my brothers classmates as well. I hope they're all safe.
In spite of the fact that the Bush adminstration is a catastrophe on foreign policy, my heart goes out to the troops. Do what you gotta do and come back home alive.
Good luck to all the troops from the U.S., England, and Australia (who were formally commited about one hour ago). God bless them all.
I'm getting off easy, Khan. I got deployed to a Homeland Security station a few months ago. Lucky. No time for a redeployment now... I have a few friends over there right now, though. FISTers, front-line guys, too. They're good at what they do. I know they'll come home safe.
I live near Killeeen/Fort Hood and the area is practically a ghost town. I hope this ends soon, with few fatalities.
They are not only America's best; they are also some of the best the world can offer, since many soldiers are recent immigrants. Blessed is the world for the most fearsom military machine ever is on the right side of history and humanity.
