Whoopadee doo! It took longer than we thought, but it is pretty damn rockin'. Just sent it off to mastering today. Here's the cover image... CD Release party is January 28. Woot.
That was Rocketeer's idea - he did all the layouts. I thought the license plate was a nice tough. Actual logo:
It's very nice. I like the cover. For some reason, the logo reminds me of a creamsicle (spelling?). I guess that's a good thing, though.
I think you mean a Dreamsicle (spelling?). And they're good! Congrats, Jeff! I look forward to hearing it. Let us know when it's out, so I can pick one up. edit: I guess it's 1/28/06, duh!
That font for the logo is called "Creampuff." I just liked the 70's look to it. Yeah, the disc will be out on January 28 at the CD release party. We may make it available online before then, but it will defintely be out then.
congrats, look forward to hearing it. self-release? that sounded bad. are you on a label, i should say?
I'll buy it.. I'm not just saying this, but that's one of the better album covers I've seen.. Congrats Jeff
Yeah, this is an indie release - no label. The CD release party is at Rudyard's on January 28. We're talking about a Cactus in-store, but just haven't messed with that yet. We will appear on Fox Rox, the local Fox morning show segment about local bands on January 27. I am still trying to figure out how I'm going to be ready to play at 6am. Thanks for the compliments on the cover. The photo was taken by my friend Leland Isley (great photographer and guitarist). We went to an auto salvage yard on Shepherd and this guy said we could take pictures if he got a copy. Dude looked like Waylon Jennings and his name was Dr. Dan the Parts Man. How cool is that? Rocketeer did all the artwork. He did a killer job.
Congrats! that is terrific. Where did you record. and are you familiar with Rock Romano and/or his recording facilities?
that will be great. I will also let my friends in Houston to check you guys out. I'm looking forward to hearing some.
