Well, my band is breaking up and we are playing in Houston for the final time this Friday night at the Blue Lagoon off of Witte Rd. near Gessner and I-10. It's kind of sad for me because I've been doing this for years, but I'm looking forward to having one final party in Houston. If anybody feels like coming out and seeing some fun jamming classic rock/blues, come check us out. You will not find a group of musicians that have any more fun than what we do. It's a fun little neighborhood bar if you've never heard of it and of all the places that we've played in Houston, it's been the most fun. The name of the band is The Fire Ants.
um, do you guys have a keyboard player you will no longer be needing? Sorry, I feel terrible about asking that. I will try to make it out Friday.
B-ball freak, Actually, I'm the keyboard player and the reason that the band is breaking up because I've got another gig here in Austin. It would be cool to have you come out and jam on a few songs if you want to. I never get any keyboard players that come up, so that would be fun.
Sorry that I read your post wrong. But I guess that I answered your question about the keyboard player. I'm doing some work here in Austin, but I'm always open to other opportunities.
Peleincubus, That's cool. I used to live there, but now I'm in Austin. Where did you see us? We'll be at the Texas Tavern at the end of October and then that's pretty much it for the band.
So you're not around College Station anymore? Congrats if you graduated. If you're ever doing a gig here, I'll swing by. And don't be shy about posting your Austin gigs because a lot of people in Austin read this board.
Kim- We played at Fitzwilly's this month for the last time. We had played there the first Thursday of every month straight for seven years. I actually graduated from A&M a while back, but I go to campus from time to time to check e-mail (and this BBS). I'm in graduate school in San Marcos and working at a piano bar on 6th street now, so that keeps me pretty busy. I do hope to do another Fitwilly's gig in College Station sometime in the spring. I'll keep you posted.
