They changed the email associated with my account, as well as the billing location and personal information, so I can't get in and reset my password. They did it on a Friday night so it's more difficult for me to get ahold of anyone on the phone, so I'm at the mercy of the email support system. My password is very strong, but apparently that didn't matter, so now I feel that I need to change my password for every single website I use everywhere.
Also, why would they change your billing information? There is no way they can make fraudulent purchases in that case, and opening an account for legitimate reasons is easy and free. Your story does not add up.
My iTunes account was hacked, and I had a bunch of unauthorized charges. Then I had tons of problems resetting my password. Eventually I was able to reset my password by deleting all cookies and clearing my internet history. Not sure why that worked, but it did.
Of course I went there. You can either: 1. reset your password using your email address (which has been changed) or 2. reset your password with your security questions I tried #2, but the first step asks you your birthday, and my correct birthday didn't work, so I assume they changed this, too.
Actually I'm sure they changed my shipping information, not the billing information. That's what I meant by billing location. I misspoke. Here are the emails I received.
Call your credit card company in the mean time and let them know that the charges being posted by Apple as of last night are fraudulent. That sucks someone would hijack your account.
I am surprised that Apple is not getting more heat for this, as it seems to happen a whole lot. They were less than helpful when the same thing happened to me last year.
I thought last year's hacks hinted that Apple's billing servers may have been at fault (not an end user issue)?
NO....With Android...u have to worry about APPS stealing your information and giving you a Trojan. Andriod is WAY less secure.
