Just got back from the game tonight. The night before the game, I met up with my contacts with the Rockets at the W Hotel on 39th and Lex. That was where the Rockets were staying sunday night. We just hung out at the bar and of course no Rockets were hanging out because they are supposed to be on Curfew - wink wink. We ended up at this bar in the Village where I saw Shandon Anderson and some other players. Nothing really exciting to report except that my buddy said T Brown could be something special. I just smiled and said "We'll see." Evidently, some people in the organization think he has potential. On another note, later that night, another contact was telling me WALT WILLIAMS has a RAP CD that he's trying to shop. Being that I'm in the music industry, they wanted to get me a copy. I'm gonna follow up and try and get it. Another friend told me not to bother tho. I think his exact words were... You're Funny! I'll let you know what I find out. Game Day, I was in Section 127 above the Rockets Bench. Not bad seats at all. A couple of Rocket fans around us. Steve Francis has the BRIGHTEST SILVER/DIAMOND WATCH that was blinding me from where I was sitting. Damn Steve, Bling Bling went out of style already! I won't comment on the game because you all saw what happened. The Knick fans are funny tho. They definitely let their team have it when they are sucking. The Boo Birds were out in full force in the 3rd quarter. However, towards the end, the Knick crowd quickly turned around and were yelling their hearts out. You can definitely feel the energy which may have helped in the end. Knick fans were definitely surprised at Glen Rice's performance as well as I. We all didn't think he was going to do much. Going into the game, I wasn't expecting much but hoping for a Rockets win. Then at the end I got disgusted with the worse Cuttino Mobley shot ever. Oh well. After the game, we waited around for my friends and players to come out. Since they don't let guests enter the locker room area, they make all guest with passes wait in a section by the above the scorers table. It's interesting to see who waits for the players and personnel to come out. Usually some real cuties/groupies hanging out. Rudy T's wife and daughter Nicole was in New York was waiting with everyone at the Garden. Mobley's Mom and Dad were there also. One by one players came out. Moochie in his durag. Mobley in his Pimp Gold Suit. Steve in a Grey suit. But NOONE...beats CALVIN MURPHY'S BRIGHT BLUE SUIT! WOW! Nothing really exciting to report this year. Because they came in Sunday afternoon and had to leave right after the game for Chicago, I didn't really get to find out anything revelating. Next report... when the Rockets come to Continental Airlines Arena vs. the NJ NETS!
Screw all that...I wanna hear some Mariah Carey stories (I just checked out your site!)!! Thanks for the report. Old School
I still don't see how Cuttino's favorite shot (the jump back J from dead on center) is the "worst Cuttino shot ever." Oh well. I thought you said you weren't going to comment on the game. You had to add that commentary though. Am I really the only one that said, "shoot early," so we could still foul and get another try, if not the board. Am I really the only one that doesn't get disgusted with anything, except quitters and slop from the opponents? I love bball. I'll take that shot if Cuttino doesn't! I guess we will always hate on Cuttino when he misses the last shot, and say he was stupid for waiting too long, stupid for shooting too soon, stupid for passing, stupid for not passing. Oh well.
why do you say that crisp? that was a horrible shot by mobley that had no chance of going in. houston was all up on him and mobley...as good as he shoots fadeaways...was terribly off-balance and awkwardly had to shoot it over houston. It wasn't a typical fadeaway that he CAN make most of the time. I just get upset when he doesn't use his head...a simple pump fake and Houston would have fouled mobley...2 shots...tie game. But noooooo, he was determined just to put something up and deregarded any other strategy. Isn't this his 4 season? when does that veteran status help?
