The first one died after about a year, it just froze up so I sent it in and they sent me a new one. This one has been good for about 2 months and now I am having major disk reading errors, so it is going back too. I hate not having it for the week or so while they fix it, anyone else have these issues? DD
Do you play it that often? I've never played one in my life. In fact, the last game systen I personally owned was a super nintendo my parents got me for making all As... Is is that addictive?
I've had mine since launch and have only had one problem with it freezing but that was because of the game (MLB2K6). Haven't had a problem since I stopped playing that game.
Buying from Costco gives the best peace of mind. I had one shipped from overstock and it was busted on arrival. Also, sometimes the software may be faulty. My old NCAA 07 had a bunch of disc read errors, but my new copy runs flawlessly.
I will be sending my xbox 360 in for the fourth time. It gets really frustrating but o well what are you going to do.
David Carr's fault. But seriously, do you keep it in a well ventilated area? Mine runs super hot - enough to melt itself basically.
Ya my PS2 NCAA freezes up a lot too. Also the 1st batch of gaming systems are succeptible to all kinds of bugs. The series number and actual hardware gradually change during the systems lifespan to improve quality. With the PS3 seemingly being thrown together at the last second I am sure Ill have all kinds of headaches with that console. You typically have to wait years if you want a quality unit.
then how about you don't buy a PS3 on launch day? it's not hard to figure that out =P I totally agree with you, launch day units of any console are always prone to more problems than the updated hardware revisions that come out later. that's why I never buy console hardware on day 1...you make it sound like you have to or something
If NBA 2k, Live, or Madden are out at launch then ya I DO have to have it. Im ready for next gen already.
You're not missing much with Madden so far. And I believe (not sure of the exact date) I'll be playing 2K7 later this month or sometime next. Looking forward to it.
Right because: 1.) Those are available. 2.) Those won't suffer from similar failures. Your advice is brilliant.
My little brother has had to send his in three times. At least two times they have sent him a new system. What this tells me that it might be a user issue. Either the power in his house is bad with big-time spikes and sags, or he has it where it's getting too hot. Both are classic computer issues I see alot. Not sure though. I don't have a 360; it might just be a POS.
Yeah, my 360 had the dreaded 3 red lights. Some sort of a hardware problem. I called Microsoft and even though it's THEIR product that's at fault through no error of mine, they still want me to shell out $129 to repair the system. I'm wondering what Costco's return policy is on 360s. I got it opening day through them and I'm trying to remember if I bought some kind of guarantee or warranty came with the purchase.
