I was finally able to round up some people and watch this movie last night (I don't like being the "guy" sitting by himself at a theater). What a treat! First of all, the acting was absolutely sensational. Jason Strathairn was perfectly casted for the role of Edward Murrow. His monologues during the TV broadcast screamed integrity and charisma. It was perfect.

While the movie did have some downfall, where there was not enough tension throughout the plot (at least IMO). If you want to watch Oscar worthy acting, this is the movie to watch. In addition, Clooney did a great job of directing by using fantastic shots, keeping the story flowing and made good use of interludes.

Overall, this is a must see movie. Catch it before it leaves the theaters. I know it's still playing at Edwards Cinema (Greenway) and AMC (Dunvale).

No, I'm not talking about the guy in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch. This is a different actor and he is truly Oscar worthy.

No I'm not. I'm not sure I have seen the guy in a leading role before, but he is very good.

He's a great character actor. He's been in a bunch of movies and a couple TV series.

I really want to see this one. It is being called the best news/journalism film since All the President's Men. Supposedly, it was VERY faithful to actual events. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I believe it's between Strathairn and Hoffman for best actor this year. Honestly, if you haven't seen this movie, go see it. I left the theatre wanting to become a journalist and take the establishment down. It's one of those movies that proves you don't need CG, explosions, or fight scenes to make a riveting film. This movie is especially timely given the way our news media has gone since Murrow's prophetic words. You have to see this one.

I too was amazed at how accurate he predicted the future of journalism.

Rented it, saw it, wow. I don't think I've breathed through the whole movie. Best movie in a very long time.
