The Moutain Goats - We Shall all be Healed this CD is amazing... certainly the best i have heard for 2004 every song is superb, just one after another the singers voice is great, the lyrics are sweet and the guitar playing the bomb so if you like alt-folk-rock type stuff this will not disappoint
I was gonna start a new thread on CDs. I just picked up Franz Ferdninad...badass. Take Me Out is one of the best singles I've heard in a while.
You should've started this thread about three hours ago. After receiving the blessing of RM95's Girl's parents to ask her to marry me, I celebrated with the purchase of FF and the new Dilated Peoples.
I wasn't too worried about it, especially since she's been calling them every five minutes the last few days to ask about wedding plans. Australia's definitely in the running for the honeymoon...but only if I get t-shirts. I think I'm gonna go buy this CD this weekend.
the new Mountain Goats is better than the last one, but i's no where near as good as "Nine Black Poppies", "The Coroner's Gambit", or even "All Hail West Texas" just to name a few. All of those records were recorded on a tape recorder though, so you might be startled by the recording quality after hearing the studio stuff on "We Shall All Be Healed". They are also from when John was still performing solo rather than with a band.
Also, if you like the guys vocals but want faster, more energetic music check out The Thermals. They're a punk influenced indie pop band that play perfect pop nuggets at breakneck speed and the vocals are a dead ringer.
