While I have a host of ideas, some novel and some pretty obvious, I like to put these thoughts into a long post every once in a while.

I think we have a pretty good shot at Chris Bosh.

    Lebron:
First, barring a championship or at least a finals with an unforgettable run, I believe Lebron is going to NY.

If Lebron goes to NY, something tells me that Chris Bosh is going to stand by his words and look to be more than the guy under Lebron's shadow.

Chris Bosh will probably still want out of Toronto.

He will consider signing as a FA at a loss of $30 million probably to: Chicago or Miami.

With Chicago being the strongest candidate. Miami will not appear that attractive with the core they have now, unless he decides he wants to be 2nd to Dwade. On top of this, Dwade could go to Chicago, which would eliminate both choices.

Out of the sign and trade possibilities, there are few teams that could offer Bosh contender status along with a sizable set of assets that Toronto will want.

    From a Toronto Raptors board:
Best team to trade Bosh to:

    1. Chicago (Noah, Deng, Hinrich???)
    2. Dallas (Butler,Haywood,Terry???)
    3. Houston (Battier, Lowry, Martin, Scola???)
    4. Denver (NeNe, Anderson,Smith, Affalo???)
    5. OKC (Sefolosha, Harden, Green, Ibaka???)

I doubt Chicago will want to part with either Noah or Rose, which makes them far less desirable. Dallas, Denver = Older players. OKC - not enough without Westbrook in the picture.

We are the best S&T partner out there. Although others have better assets (Golden State, LAC, Sac) - they are highly likely to be less desirable to Bosh. Also others don't have the expiring contracts to match up with Toronto.

It's going to be hard to beat a package centered around Aaron Brooks and some of our young talent (Budinger, Hill, our picks). We can throw in expirings in Battier and JJ to match salaries.

Let's cross our fingers and get the perfect complement to Yao:
    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CTRXemumo_k&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CTRXemumo_k&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

With Bosh on Board, we will have completed our transformation to the new bizarro world 2002 Kings. (Esp if AB is not traded)

Tough as nails point guard (AB/KL) - Mike Bibby/Jackson
Sharpshooter with defensive issues - Martin vs Peja
Defensive Specialist - Christie vs Ariza/Battier
Versatile Face-up PF - Webber vs Chris Bosh
Slow but talented Center - Vlade vs Yao

Now there are some who feel that we would be giving up too much for Chris in a trade. I honestly believe that this is because we have inflated the value of most of our players in this rebuilding season. Aaron's stock will probably never be higher. Budinger and Hill may or may not improve into anything more than role players.

Our draft pick will be the enigma, because Morey's track record suggests that we could get some serious value. To give this up will be hard, but a player like Chris Bosh doesn't come around every draft.

Even if we don't get the big prize, our future will be bright, no doubt. But getting Bosh would be like finally getting the player that we have wanted since we drafted Yao in 2002.

    Hell No!

"3. Houston (Battier, Lowry, Martin, Scola???)"

We wouldn't give that much up for one player we're not hurting for. We'll get big in the draft.
