Legendary country guitarist Chet Atkins died on Friday after a long battle with cancer. He practically invented the fingerpicking style that proliferated throughout 60's and 70's rock and folk music. He also worked with Gibson Guitars to help produce some of the finest hollow-body electric guitars ever made. He also collaborated on an innovative solid body acoustic that is still in production and is a terrific instrument. He was 77. Incredible jazz saxaphonist Joe Henderson died of heart failure Saturday. He was 64. Henderson was a pioneer of the jazz saxaphone and winner of three grammy's. If you've never heard his tribues to Billy Strayhorn ("Lush Life") and Antonio Carlos Jobim ("Double Rainbow"), you are missing out. He didn't have the fame of Coltrane or Parker, but he was extremely well-respected in the jazz community. Both will be missed. ------------------ How the hell should I know why God would allow the Holocaust. I don't even know how the electric can opener works. - from Hannah and Her Sisters
