Bought their CD today based on a glowing recomendation. Its got a heavy 70's metal band influence. I really dig the tracks but I'm wondering if it's authentic. Are my sensibilities diluted by the crap posing as rock that I bite at the first morsel of 70's heavy metal nostalgia? Or is this a genuine work. Perhaps some of the older members can way in. Or anyone else for that matter. P.S Anyone know where I can buy Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out (Daft Punk remix)
I've heard their single "Woman" it definitely sounds like Deep Purple, I like it a lot, I'll prob pick up their cd sometime.
so far, not much of a response to this thread. Let me just say this, Wolfmother are Aussies, im sure you may of realised...so therefore im all for them.
So last night after the OC I caught the new iPod commercial. Turns out the song the black silhouettes' are rocking to is Love Train by Wolfmother. I'm suprised Manny Ramirez hasn't wieghed in on this. Anyway, I found the Franz Ferdinand Daft Punk Remix. It cost me 15 quid (£) from a store in London.
I like them a lot. They are playing tomorrow night in Dallas but I wont be able to go. I need to get thier cd. All I have heard from them was on myspace
Just gave them a listen. They really sound like a combination of Styx, early Rush, and Black Sabbath. The vocalist sure sounds like Ozzy!
I'm still here; just been very busy and trying to ween myself off from posting on the BBS. I haven't heard of Wolfmother, so I can't really comment on them - sorry.
Yeah, this is one of the better rock albums [updated classic sound] i've heard in a long time. Very cool.
I finally have XM in the house. The other day I heard this song that should've been on Top Tracks or Deep Tracks. I look down and it's Wolfmother on Ethel. I'll have to look out for them more...not bad.
