Seems like Maroon 5 has been around a while now, and is not slowing down. Get adults and kids alike to like your music, and you aren't going anywhere.

Though technically they've been around 20 years they haven't really been relevant for much more than a decade. And I think Adam Levine being on the Voice has helped keep them more relevant than they would have been.
    I don't think they'll be around in 20 years.

Mr. Brightside is going to necro-bump this thread in 20 years.

I'll believe it when I see it. My vote is for Sublime. I get the impression that my kids will someday be like, "Dad, have you ever heard of Sublime??" And I'll be like, "Yes, children! I have."

Most of the ones that have achieved mass popularity will probably be around since humans tend to like things that remind us of our youth. Expect Nickleback and Coldplay to be playing the Woodlands Pavilion together sometime in 2029. I guess that doesn't mean relevant though. I imagine Dark Side of the Moon and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band will still be at the top of most best/most important albums lists.

I feel like this was a thread not very long ago.

In 20 years I'll still be listening to Meshuggah. It doesn't get old.

PS - God help me if I'm still posting here in 20 years

Clutchfans will be fully interactive by then. I'm going to stay the hell away from virtual hotballa threads.

    Rush

I realize that's my answer to almost everything. It's not my fault. It's them being relevant for 40+ years to ensure they are relevant through the end of time. And, they will definitely be extremely relevant in 2112. Alien species will be listening to Rush. Whole Utopian societies will be formed around Rush's music. Conform or be cast out! Step aside....Bill and Ted (pretenders).
