Aye, thanks for posting the Deep Purple vid. The bandmembers are holding up great! I always forget about them. I tend to extricate from any "record store snob" (I say it with love) conversation when 1. Deep Purple 2. Killing Joke 3. Fleetwood Mac 4. Grateful Dead come up because I know next to nothing about them except that if the acid peaks during "Loser" by the Dead, it's pretty wicked. I'm a bit of a grunge baby myself so those 5-6 (Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc.) bands probably get more rotation than most. But I'd be doing my Clutchfans brethren a disservice if I didn't give some love to the Kills here, who I've been a big fan of for 20 years now. Damn. I'm getting old. Here's something newer from our friends down under
Based on posts by others in this thread and elsewhere on Clutchfans, there are quite a few in your age group. So consider bringing more Grunge music to this thread. It won't hurt to try. I speak from experience since I try some things to mixed success and nobody has killed me......yet. Don't worry about the age thing since I am older than you and it doesn't bother me. Just have to accept this is how things are and go from there. I am trying to expand the range/scope of what I listen to and The Kills don't seem like a huge jump from where I am at the moment. The Viagra Boys are something different and it will be a while before I am ready to expand that far on what I listen to. There are many in this thread that know more than me, but they don't come across as Record Store Snobs. They can adjust the conversation to what you want to talk about in music. Other than the International groups/bands with a strong female presence, my knowledge is just a subset of what Manny, Rashmon etc know. It appears that they are now living in Thailand and the water there is doing wonders for them! Seriously, Youtube has me classified as likely to click on videos with woman performers even those from other parts of the world. So Youtube keeps suggesting/feeding those types of links to me and I keep clicking. I had just seen that video the same day that I read your earlier post that mentioned the Stones, Black Sabbath etc. So I decided to introduce another girl group/band and also bring up Deep Purple with just one video.
Saw Agent Orange tonight. What a great band, still in top form. Hearing Bloodstains live was priceless.
