The only performance at the Grammys that could be classified as "rock:" I think they did a pretty good job paying homage to this classical style of music.

    Corima - Amaterasu
    Pig - Pain Is God

First album is somewhat obscure but represents the Zeuhl movement fairly well and the other album is the first one by Industrial legend, Raymond Watts aka Pig in quite sometime.

The Taj Mahal Travellers - July 15, 1972
The Promise Ring - Nothing Feels Good
My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult - Confessions of a Knife....

The first album is a drone like album that reminds me of Tangerine Dream.

    Yo La Tengo afternoon....

I'm Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass
I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One

I know that I have listened to "I'm Not Afraid...." recently but damn that album is so glorious in so many ways. First of all, it has the best title of any album I have ever heard but that in itself should not make it that great. However, YLT throws all their various styles on this album - from guitar freakouts like the opening track, "Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind" and "The Story of Yo La Tengo" to the great spare organ ditty, "The Room Got Heavy" to the sublime instrumental "Daphnia" - this is an album that just gets better and better on every listen! The second album is of course, YLT's acclaimed masterpiece and I also enjoy it just as much but there is something about "I'm Not Afraid..." that really speaks to me. It has moved into my top 5 of favorite albums of all-time for sure.

I'll add The Stone Roses and My Bloody Valentine to the above list but I would be shocked to see either of those 2 bands (especially the first) ever touring again.
