I've been listening to their special edition cd a ton lately (Any Port in a Storm), and I love it. You guys may recognize their song "Lay Me Down" (with Rome of Sublime with Rome), as it's been getting some good radio play lately. They were named a top 10 band to watch in 2010 by Rolling Stone, also. They're a blend of punkish-type rock, reggae, and rap. Anyways, I don't live in Houston, but hear they're playing Buzzfest on 10/28. Actually, Tuesday, they're playing at the House of Blues in Houston with OAR. I also heard that they're possibly playing an accoustic show at a restaurant opening somewhere in the Woodlands on Sunday. They're doing autographs, and giving away a fender. Check them out if you like them. I wish I could. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pAoao9FkHwE&rel=0&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pAoao9FkHwE&rel=0&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hnuEOYK1Kps&rel=0&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hnuEOYK1Kps&rel=0&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> <object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tlytqteLkSE?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tlytqteLkSE?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object> Nobody usually likes my musical tastes on here, but tell me what you guys thinks. Let me know if anyone checks them out.
I've heard like one of their songs, lol. A while ago. I think Buzzfest has had some good bands over the years, though. I've just never been.
Eddie I've watched you grow into a man on this bbs and I'm just trying to point out that music has become so diverse and important to social status and acceptance (especially in your mid twenties) now that you're making a fool out of yourself by not listening to Scandinavian Art rock and dubstep, etc. If you want I can introduce you to a magazine called "Pitchfork". Inside each issue you will find many eclectic sounds being discussed, from Arcade Fire to **** Buttons to Lupe Fiasco to Tiesto and so forth. They will have album reviews on a 1-10 scale, and many advertisements for people with a high opinion of themselves.
You said you like reggae-rock- and tropical music? Restless People- debut album out any day now! <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/12YwyEREbag?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/12YwyEREbag?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Made from the same people who brought you Tanlines! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YtijpfnJzMo?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YtijpfnJzMo?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Happy to report that both videos combined cost less than 250 bucks to produce. Pitchfork approved.
