Nine 'mastered, finished' tracks from Chinese Democracy, the album that Axl Rose has been working on for the past 14 years, were posted on a little-known rock website, www.Antiquiet.com. The infamous album is reported to have cost in excess of $13million (£6.5million) to produce but its release is said to have been held up by discussions between Rose and the band’s record label Geffen Records, over rights. A poster calling themselves Skwerl made the nine songs available on Wednesday, without revealing their source, but the tracks were removed hours later. The poster wrote: "I always said that the more that Axl and Geffen jerked around trying to figure out how to release this finally finished album that we’ve all been waiting over 13 years for, the greater the chances would be that it would slip out of a pressing plant or office somewhere and wind up in the hands of some ******* with a blog. So…" Despite the hasty removal of the songs, reportedly after a call from the band’s lawyers, they soon spread throughout the internet, appearing on filesharing sites as well as YouTube. Once released, the album will be the first original recording from Guns N' Roses since the 1991 releases of Use Your Illusion. It is rumoured that a Guns N’ Roses reality TV show is set to be broadcast to coincide with the official release of the album. In reference to the lengthy wait for the album, the California pop-punk band The Offspring announced in 2003 that their next album would be entitled Chinese Democrazy (You Snooze, You Lose).
Yeah, the real version sounds a lot better. I'm a huge GNR fan, but I had no expectations for Chinese Democracy. I'm still mad that Axl scared off Slash and Izzy. Add that with the frustration of the tour with the new lineup being canceled, and I've been pretty pessimistic with all things involving Axl Rose. Even then, these new tracks are not bad.

If Axl pulls off a solid album after all this time i'll be amazed.
So, is this song about Axl's iron grip on the band and the precious time expired before the release of the album?
Pretty nice when your occupation is famous for being famous. Which allows you to take your sweet lil' 14 years time to complete an ordinarily weeks long task. Was getting used to the Buckethead version of the band, now the only semi-likeable change from the original lineup is changed to something else now...goodness.
It's about the poor quality of chinese made hair extensions a product he has to endure to hide his baldness.
Does the song sound like Axl took a big leak on it? Haven't heard about him since he performed that one time a few years ago. I think it was MTV music awards? or VH1 or something? Anyways, geez that was horrible!
Yikes! I hope the hazmat team responded quickly. Probably worth evacuating every retail music store for a few weeks just to be on the safe side. (I have hated them ever since seeing them live in Houston, circa 1988.)
Surprisingly not as ****ty as I thought it'd be....definitely surprised and looking forward to it now. Maybe it was a good thing it got leaked, I dunno bout everyone else, but I think that a good majority of people expected absolute CRAP since all of the problems in the last few years, but hey, this sparks enthusiasm and interest back into it.
If a nameless band were releasing this i would say its a great effort. Since the GNR name is attached to it i would rank it slightly above average to average. It has it's moments with Madasgar, The Blues, Better and Chinese Democracy. The other songs come off as fairly average. The chorus's seem forced and "If the World" just isn't a GNR song.
Honestly, better than I was expecting. To me, if you just think of it as a solo Axl record, you will like it. It doesnt sound like GNR though, IMO. I like "New Song #2" a lot. Ill definitely check it out when/if it is ever released.
Hmmm, all the videos have been pulled -- leaving the first single up seems like a better idea - that's a lot of lost exposure for the 'band' ~ (Axl).
I've got news for you...they were nothing with Slash too! One of the worst live bands I ever had the displeasure of seeing, and I saw them in 1988.
