Who do you think are some of the greatest rock trios ever?

    Cream (Clapton, Bruce, Baker)
    Rush (Lifeson, Lee, Peart)
    Nirvana (Cobain, Novoselic, Grohl)
    The Police (Summers, Sting, Copeland)
    ELP (Emerson, Lake, Palmer)

Those are the names that come to my mind but it feels like I am missing some pretty obvious ones.

EDIT - Jimi Hendrix Experience should be choice #6

    In order:

    Jimi Hendrix Experience
    Cream
    ZZ Top

The rest of the bands listed don't even come close, IMHO.

I was about to say Gibbons, Hill and Beard. They had great old stuff, any thing after Eliminator sucked.
