i love cover tunes. why do they get a bad rap in rock while it's normal for country, jazz and blues artists to do "standards".
There was a tribute to Jimi Hendrix (Stone Free) that came out 12 years ago. Most of the songs were done very well. ICE-T - "Hey Joe" Clapton - "Stone Free" Buddy Guy - "Red House" There are other very good covers. This album stood out when I saw the thread title.
