Got a quick question for the members of the greatest fan site in the world. My wife is in the process of producing a slide show for our daughter who just turned one. Our plan is to make one of these dvd's for every year until she turns 18. The are a few songs that my wife would like to add to the project and we were wondering what is the best site to get downloadable music. She has used the walmart site in the past but is not able to use those downloaded songs in the slide show because they are secured. There seems to be a million of these sites but we do not know which one is the best in both user friendly and economical. We also want to make sure whatever songs we download that we will be able to use in the slide show as well as burn to a cd. Any advice would be apprecaited. Thanks.
If you are looking for a fairly simple free music dowload site, download this program: http://www.aresgalaxy.org/download.html Get the lite version. They should have your songs listed.
Well, I'm going to assume you want LEGAL downloads, at there are a gazillion places to get on the bad side of the RIAA... I believe www.allofmp3.com offers songs files in plain ol' unsecured mp3 format. It's a Russian-based company: some folks don't trust them, some do. I've never known anyone to have a problem with their service, though. Also, I believe emusic.com offers songs in an unsecured format. Or at least the USED to. Good luck.
I've used this before at friends' houses, but I wanna know: can you turn off file sharing or not? Thx.
Thanks for the help guys. And yes we are only looking for legal downloads. No need to go get in trouble with the RIAA and set a bad example for the little one.
Have you tried burning the songs from Walmart to CD (as a regular CD) and then ripping them to disk as MP3s? At that point you shouldbe able to incorporate the MP3 into the slide show.
bobrek, That is a great idea. My wife said this morning that she was thinking about that. I think we will give that a try. Thanks again for everybody's help.
Yes me too If you want it, I'll upload it on yousendit for you. Dunno if i'll get into trouble but you could just email/pm me.
Can you hook me up with LimeWirePro also darkwarrior? I tried to IM you & send you a PM with no luck.
Go to emusic.com and sign up for their free trial ~ you receive 50 free downloads over a two week period of time and you can end your trial at any time no questions asked. I've done the trial without any problems - you can continue dl'ing music for under 5 bucks a month if you like the service. emusic trial
limewire (not the pro version you have to pay for) is freakin sweet. fastest, most dependable file-sharing program i've used since napster.... maybe even better.
That is a fantastic idea. I wish that I had the equipment to do this when my son was young, but I was kinda po. I use the freeby Limewire and it works good.
