so i was sitting in the galveston movie theater waiting for scream 4 to start and a song came on before the lights dimmed. really catchy tune. so i used soundhound on my android phone and knew the song in two taps and 15 secs. too bad webos didn't give access to the mic api. "looks like" soundhound will be my new mtv 120 minutes. anyhow the band name was dawin deez and the song was constellations. as far as last looks go, you could do worse. /killbill the video is below: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/37sKI7d7-xA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> tech is pretty cool. in about four or so taps, i was able to figure out what the song was and by the album. i predict broke times in the future. definitely nothing heavy (i'm getting old). just relaxing, cool vibe music. they haven't had as much success here as they have in the uk for some reason. oh and the albums been out since early last year, so i slept on it somehow. for those into indie music, it's worth checking out.
When I first heard Deez a while back, I was convinced he was trying to steal both Erlend Øye's look and sound and present it to a more Western audience. Erlend is the front man for Kings of Convenience and Whitest Boy Alive along with his solo work. This is in addition to being one of the greatest Scandinavians to have ever lived. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/u3n6oBoO9l0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ry3WFtlDSco" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
i found him while browsing sxsw shows. love his catchiness. the videos are awesome, too. can't hit youtube behind work filter, but check out "up in the clouds" and "radar detector" - both high-quality and artistic.
he's fully aware. in the beginning of the director's cut version of the "DNA" video, there's a bag of "deez nuts" in plain view.
thx for the amazon-ish "those who bought such as such also bought such and such" comparison. deez is definitely more western. will do. thx.
