You don't need to be talented to get fame and attention, strange how people havn't recognized this yet. He's won the hearts of teenage America, that's all that matters, it means $$$ for everyone involved. It's not like Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift are extremely talented, they just sell, why wouldn't the music industry take advantage of them? Don't hate, appreciate.
Unlike the Academy Awards (and even that can be suspect), the Grammy awards rarely get it right. They may get the Album of the Year right about 2% of the time. And other categories, too. Case in Point: New Artist of the Year for 1978: Elvis Costello, The Cars, Toto, Taste of Honey Winner: Taste of Honey.

I stopped watching or caring a long time ago. It makes less sense each year. Who they nominate in each category and who wins, it's very puzzling. Isn't there some famous example like a country group won the Metal category one year or something like that?
I think its a running joke. at least i hope it is. I dont see how people can get all over the popular people. id give the artist a shot if his last name was spelled Beaver, i can already think of so many marketing campaigns
