I'm starting to realize i like a lot of the music on games. All the songs from Street Fighter II always pumped me up... I like David Bergeaud, who composed the music for the PS2 Ratchet and Clank games. I have a playlist of a bunch of that music, and it's good work music. My daughter adores Little Big Planet music, which IMO is hit and miss. Rachel Portman is a movie soundtrack composer (Chocolat, Emma, Cider House Rules, etc.). I really enjoy her music and listen to it quite frequently if I want something soothing while I work. It's also my default choice when writing.

Anything John Williams is good Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerard also make some good music Gladiator, Man on Fire, Spy Game (Operation Dinner Out is the best song on that soundtrack), Forest Gump, I enjoy those the most, but the best is this John Williams mega-mix, it's 1:17 and epic, but I can't find it anywhere to dl

The best music for any video game ever comes from the video game Outlaws. Halo's music is simply epic.
The Halo and God of War franchises have some of the most epic scores out there. For films, don't think you can go wrong with James Horner (Glory, Titanic, Avatar), John Williams (Star Wars, Indy, Harry Potter) and Hans Zimmer (The Rock, Broken Arrow, Crimson Tide, Thin Red Line, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Inception)
