I went to a few of their shows back in the day when they were clearly on drugs. And, they played and performed like it. I gave up on them after that. Some of the worst shows I've seen. And, some of that crowd they drew back then were nasty.

I wasn't a big fan and can't comment on what they were like live, but there's no denying Tyler had one of the best voices in the history of rock when he was in his prime. Changed a bit from his early work, but certainly not for the worse.

    Respect.

Won't be surprised if they un-retire in a couple years.

I really liked them back in about 1976.

Me too. I can't even tell you how many times I listened to my 3 fav Aerosmith albums Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic and Rocks. Of course, back I was jamming to them on an 8 track in my car. :p

Hey, I still have those albums on vinyl. I don’t have a turntable anymore, but I still have all my records.

With advancements in AI, he could be back. Nvidia just needs to shove a chip in his throat!

That’s funny. $8.85. We went to some of the same shows. Good times.

Inflation adjusted for 2024... I'm old and don't go to arena-rock concerts anymore, but even $49.90 seems like it would be a pretty good deal for a concert with a band as big as they were in '76.

I mean, Steve Tyler is 76. He had a great run, specially considering all the drugs they used throughout the years. They had an epic run. Aerosmith is one of the greatest bands of all time.

Yeah, I was lucky to have been a teenager back before Ticketmaster and online ticket sales ruined the business and ticket scalpers bought up all the good seats online. Back then we just waited in line for awhile outside the ticket window at the mall before they went on sale and first come first serve for the good seats. All tickets were the same price, regardless of whether you were in the first 10 rows or not, and they were cheap. Edgar Winter Band was my first concert, and that was only $5.50, but I saw plenty of the best rock bands under $8.50. Now the small venues and clubs were great too. I saw Police for $3 at the Texas Opry House in Houston. It was basically a big bar with long wooden tables where you could get pitchers of beer and watch the show.

I like some of their music but I think it’s the right thing to do. I think there is a lot to be said for knowing when to step away and if Steve Tyler can’t bring it to stage like he used it’s probably better for him and even his fans to step back than try to keep on hanging on.

I saw them as recent as 2012 and they were still good live in recent years they always took 3 days off to save Tyler's voice and even then it still gave out in the end. I am glad they retired rather than faking it live like so many other acts do now.
