'Bush warns of Iranian ‘nuclear holocaust.’

In his speech about Iraq to the American Legion today, President Bush warned that allowing Iran to pursue “technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust.”

Haven't we seen this movie before?

In my opinion this is Jr's last arrow in the quiver. He has nothing left and I think this crazy muthafuker will pull some stunt like blowing up Iran without congressional approval and claim some crazy ass thing about all being a part of the war on terra and he doesn' need approval.

    ------------------
Study: US preparing 'massive' military attack against Iran

The United States has the capacity for and may be prepared to launch without warning a massive assault on Iranian uranium enrichment facilities, as well as government buildings and infrastructure, using long-range bombers and missiles, according to a new analysis.

The study concludes that the US has made military preparations to destroy Iran’s WMD, nuclear energy, regime, armed forces, state apparatus and economic infrastructure within days if not hours of President George W. Bush giving the order. The US is not publicising the scale of these preparations to deter Iran, tending to make confrontation more likely. The US retains the option of avoiding war, but using its forces as part of an overall strategy of shaping Iran’s actions.

    - Any attack is likely to be on a massive multi-front scale but avoiding a ground invasion. Attacks focused on WMD facilities would leave Iran too many retaliatory options, leave President Bush open to the charge of using too little force and leave the regime intact.

    - US bombers and long range missiles are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours.

    - US ground, air and marine forces already in the Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan can devastate Iranian forces, the regime and the state at short notice.

    - Some form of low level US and possibly UK military action as well as armed popular resistance appear underway inside the Iranian provinces or ethnic areas of the Azeri, Balujistan, Kurdistan and Khuzestan. Iran was unable to prevent sabotage of its offshore-to-shore crude oil pipelines in 2005.

    - Nuclear weapons are ready, but most unlikely, to be used by the US, the UK and Israel. The human, political and environmental effects would be devastating, while their military value is limited.

    - Israel is determined to prevent Iran acquiring nuclear weapons yet has the conventional military capability only to wound Iran’s WMD programmes.

    - The attitude of the UK is uncertain, with the Brown government and public opinion opposed psychologically to more war, yet, were Brown to support an attack he would probably carry a vote in Parliament. The UK is adamant that Iran must not acquire the bomb.

    - The US is not publicising the scale of these preparations to deter Iran, tending to make confrontation more likely. The US retains the option of avoiding war, but using its forces as part of an overall strategy of shaping Iran’s actions.

10,000 targets in a few hours? Let us not go overboard with the hyperbole, folks. I have no doubt that we could carry out devastating strikes on Iran's atomic facilities, but it would be a series of strikes lasting at least days, not hours. And, Heaven Help Us (if there is a god(s)), PLEASE don't let this idiotic President start any more wars. He has proven his incompetence over and over again. Bush seems to be hell-bent on taking this country down the river Styx. We need to get this guy off the bridge and put him ashore.

    Geez.

    Impeach Bush and Cheney.

If/when someone kicks off a nukular event, everyone in the Northern Hemisphere can pretty much kiss their ass goodbye. Maybe not a tactical sized bunker buster that has limited airborne debris, provided there was no retaliation (yep, looking back at human history, that's a good bet. WW1 was over the assination of one guy) But just a few high-megaton, low elevation airbursts are going to fill the atmosphere with enough fallout to poison everyone for 100 years (even more so for 'thousands')

    Three words: Tierra Del Fuego

    Or: Don't have children

The turtle poised the same question to the scorpion right before they both faded away and sank to the murky bottom of the flood...

I think it's all, like, there was this scorpion who asked for a ride across a river, and like, halfway across the scorpion all like gets in the turtles face and stings him and stuff, and then it's really sad with violin music.

Turtle: "Why did you, like, sting me and stuff when now we'll both die here in the river (sniff)?"
Scorpion: "Arrr! Because I'm a scorpion, dufus, and I'm like mean and stuff to my core! Arrr! Scorpions rule! (sting, sting)"

[ICK] So ROXRAN, the would be next Ghengis Khan, is saying it is our nature or Iran's nature or mankind's nature to just be nasty and there's no way around it. [/ICK]
