anyone ever listened to these guys? I just saw their 30 minute commericial for their new CD which consisted of replaying their new single and cheesy/cool video to go along with it. after I saw it I did some reading and saw they are huge in britain. so what are these guys all about? I was thinking about getting their cd just because of the infomercial and because they don't look like some 1 hit douche bags. so does anyone listen to this band?
I have their album. Cool cover, eh. I believe they played ACL on Friday, and play in Houston on Monday. Haven't had too much time to listen to their tracks though.
Lead singer has a whiney voice which I get tired of fast. But they're ok to listen to every now and again.
They are one of my favorite discoveries of last year. When I describe them to people, I usually say they are like the combination of Radiohead, Queen, Nine Inch Nails and an 80's hard rock band. They are phenomenal musicians who have a huge following in Europe. They haven't done as well in the states, but it's hard not to be impressed by them.
cool well I will probably go out and grab their album. from what I read people said their new album is a departure from their old stuff. the song and video they had playing over and over again was knights of cydonia. had an 80's sort of rock sound to it and the video was made to be cheesy but it was very creative and well made with the space western kung fu love story theme. it kind of reminded me of tenacious d except not as dumb and with much more talent. it is just kind of interesting to see something that at first you think is another wierd tv broadcast on late night austin tv then realizing it's a commercial for this band that is huge overseas.
I've been listening to them for a few years. The new album is a departure from their older stuff, and I've yet to really get into it, both Showbiz and Absolution are great albums though. I'm excited to get to see them tonight at ACL.
My favorite Muse... Muse Clio by Vermeer Clio the "Proclaimer" is the muse of history and is often seen sitting with a scroll and accompanied by a chest of books. She has been credited with introducing the Phoenician alphabet into Greece.
