Elton John's last two releases were actually quite good. Methinks that Elton has unjumped his shark.

How Madonna hasn't been mentioned yet is a crying shame. She's the most obvious, IMO.

I think they're off on Chris Cornell. He jumped the shark when he tried to go solo after Soundgarden, but then unjumped it with Audioslave. After splitting up Audioslave, I don't really care if he jumped the shark or gets eaten by it.

Aerosmith - They haven't been the same since reuniting with Columbia Records back in 1997. Rumor has it they've scrapped a b-sides album and are trying to return to their rock roots. Seeing the musical landscape welcome back AC/DC and Metallica with vintage albums has hopefully inspired them.

This thread's almost unfair - you could do this almost all day.

    Yep.

Guns N Roses, starting with the Spaghetti Incident

Bon Jovi when they started chasing country music dollars

Garth Brooks when he came up with that inane alter ego (Chris Gaines)

When KISS took off the makeup...and when they put it back on again

When Avril Lavigne walked into the studio making her pop-country-christian album and told them she wanted to do "punk" music after seeing skateboarders for the first time in NYC

This one's very debatable - but when Dylan went electric.

When Dave Matthews went electric (Everyday album)

When the Dixie Chicks decided that they were going to completely abandon music itself for living off the George Bush controversy.

When The Doors sold out and recorded "Touch Me"

When Amy Lee managed to fire or run off every single member of the band and still tour as Evanesence

When Shirley Manson got married and tried to make Garbage bubble gum.

    When Metallica went glam:
    From

    To

When Red & Meth became "comedic actors"

When Jefferson Airplane became Jefferson Starship

When U2 went electronica during the Zooropa era (thank god they came back from that)
