No, not Calvin, it's Michael Murphy from the Chronicle. He said on Section 610 (on STAR 610AM) that his gut feeling tells him that the Rockets are going to stay in Houston because "it's too much for the city to lose". He did not provide any information, but when Rich asked him if he is really optimistic and if it (the Rockets' chance to stay) is more than 50-50, Murphy said "yeah", and it sounds like "Yes, sure, of course!".

Personally I think Fran is too close to the Rockets organization and he will always make comments or write columns in favor of the Rockets. Michael Murphy is more "neutral". Again, that's just my gut feeling too.

Yeah...I agree with the Fran comment. That article he put out after the referendum was defeated tried to make the whole city feel guilty. About how the whole organization was saddened and it was going to distract the players...sends the wrong message...blah...blah.

That article is the definition of quid pro quo propoganda where he gets the choicest interviews and inside scoop in return. But i digress into cynicism...

What a win against the Lakers--whew...that felt better to write!!

They're trying to make Houston scared... panicked people don't think rationally.

I dont care how people think when they are scared. I was scared as soon as it got voted down. I sure hope these Rockets do stay, they have shown the style of a true winning team, making moves year in and out to try and stay competitive. On another note, dont you guys think its funny the very year that the Astros get there Stadium, which means alot more revenue for Drayton and the team, they Trade there Ace and Everett? i would have thrown that bum Alou first...i cant stand the fact that he wasnt there in the dugout with his team during the playoffs. The Astros would have had the bucks to sign Carl...yet they would weather send one of our best hitters for a minor leauge prospect? I didnt understand the Oilers...and I dont understand this off season moves by the Astros...what i do understand is the Rockets are going for the title every year, while its seems the Astros are more concerned with there pocketbooks...and they get a new stadium, and a team thats not even playing is getting one built next month? Doesnt make sense to me
