I am a volunteer admin for the rate my professors site. I got this in my email today... Dear RateMyProfessors volunteer, We're happy to inform you that RateMyProfessors.com (RMP) is now officially part of mtvU, the largest and most comprehensive network just for college students. We're thrilled to welcome the site into the mtvU family and look forward to developing it further, introducing new features and tools that will make RMP an even greater resource for college students. We know you volunteer for RateMyProfessors.com because it's fun and interesting, and the site offers students at your school a great way to learn about and select their next prof. We really appreciate your participation and hope you'll continue to contribute to the RateMyProfessors.com community moving forward as part of the new "Rate My Review Crew." Right now we're looking into launching a new program that will offer anyone who signs up for the "Rate My Review Crew" exclusive rewards such as VIP passes to mtvU Spring Break, access to exclusive concerts, tickets to movie screenings and more. Stay tuned for more details. We'll provide you with a new "Rate My Review Crew" handbook soon. We're also doing some technology upgrades to the site, and during this period, your admin access won't be active. We appreciate your patience during this short transition. mtvU is committed to cultivating RateMyProfessors.com so it continues to grow and evolve. We really want to hear from you on where you'd like to see the site go in the future, so we're going to start setting up online chats to collect your thoughts and feedback on an ongoing basis. We hope you'll make your voices heard as we chart the site's future path. We'll be following up with you shortly on everything mentioned above. If you have any questions or initial feedback, please feel free to drop us a note at tellus@mtvstaff.com. Thanks!! If they start charging like pick a prof did, I am done with that site.
I really love the setup right now at RateMyProfessors.com and I hope they don't change it or worse, start charging for it.
I doubt they will charge, this is a target demographic, so they are going to flood it with ads and whatever else viacom is pimping that month.
