His play in the playoffs is awesome. He has nothing to prove in my opinion.

TMAC should NOT prove anything to ANYONE. TMAC IS TMAC. He and yao lead rockets during the first 12 wins streak and he lead the team 8 freaking wins without yao tilll now. I doubt even Kobe could do that.

Those medias just suck and stupid.

i disagree. i have never questioned his play in the playoffs like most have (drive more, don't settle...).

29, 7, 6 are legendary #s. but as great of a player as tracy is, he's not going to be mentioned in the same breath as the great ones unless he wins. and i'm sure that's important to tracy b/c he knows he's that good. he wants to be perceived as a winner more than anything so i think tmac has a lot to prove, not only to himself but the fans/critics...

FYI: Kobe's Lakers won 19 in a row in '99-'00.

Granted, he had Shaq for all of it.

Incredible. I guess some people will always hate on a specific player or team no matter how much they accomplish. The man should be fired for making such incredibly idiotic statement. I think 20 wins in a row is a bigger accomplishment than winning 1 championship. Why? How many teams in NBA history has won at least 1 championship? Many. How many teams in NBA history has won at least 20 in a row? Three. I rest my case.

We've heard it all. TMac has nothing to prove. He's needed others to help him. He's put up the numbers, his cast needs to put up theres.

No need to put the jinx on, but we know which surrounding cast is the best to play with TMac to date.

its officially themed 'trash talk'. and the adverb trash is apt ...

its a pretty lazy trash talk piece though, the first round stuff doesn't break new ground. yah average bb trash talker has that in their back pocket the minute they see 'TMac'.

I just think its unfair and an easy critic to make.

The easy thing to say is no success in playoffs, no rings etc. This stats are easy to find.

If you watch his games, defense on dirk, creating all the offense not to mention (since you already did) his stats, the answer is obvious. But those things take effort which media seem to not want to do.

He has played at a very high level for his entire career. Teams not individuals win championships. And Barkley and Malone never won one.

What's funny is everyone looks at the streak, and assumes McGrady is playing the best ball of his career. Even Bill Worrell said as much - I couldn't believe it. Just to get everybody on the same page:

No, TMac is not playing the best ball of his career. He's been a special player in this league for a long time. No, TMac isn't all of a sudden making his teammates better. He's made them better his entire Rockets career. (Didn't follow him in Orlando).

The only difference is NOW TMac has HELP. Scola, Landry, Head, Novak contributing, Chuck and Deke's defense, Rafer playing above his head, the team defense gelling.. TMac has ALWAYS trusted his team with the Rockets, the problem is his TEAM hasn't been good enough. That's no longer the case. This is a damn good team, and that's the reason we're playing such great ball. McGrady isn't doing anymore than he's done in previous seasons.

Barkley thinks McGrady doesn't make his teammates better, that's why he hasn't gotten out of the first round. Game 7 vs. Jazz: 29 points, 13 assists, 3 blocks. If we win that game, Tmac's a hero and everyone points to his outstanding numbers. But we lost, and the myth that he doesn't make his teammates better lives on.

I believe the word the author was seeking for the title was proven.

Solid junk is what that article is.

what a punk... had the mavs achieved 20 the media would have been all over them for something as small as their 5th win even though they are without a title in their pathetic franchise history.... ppl always hate what they can't be or have, so when ppl hate on h-town i take it as a compliment because everyone knows Houstonians are the sh!+
