W/ the win last night the Rockets have a 23 and 19 record, good for #7 spot in the Western Conference. I think Van said by the time we play the Lakers on Feb. 6th we would have taken them over for the #6 spot in the west. What are the chances of this and what will our record and standings be by the all star break? Im gona have to say YES for the fact they are only 1 game ahead of us in the standings. Though our next 5 games before we play the Lakers are mostly against teams that are still in the race to make the playoffs.

I don't know about that. The Rockets have a 4-game road trip next week, with 2 of them being in Miami and Minnesota. They've got their work cut out if they wanna pass the Fakers and Grizzlies.
The chances are very good cause the Rockets won't lose again until Febuary 11 vs Indiana. 23 -19 won 3 wed26 at New Orealns - W fri28 Sacramento - W sun30 at Miami - W mon31 at Boston - W wed2 at Philly - W fri4 at Minnesota - W sun6 L. i would'nt count boston as a win just yet. the way they matchup with us makes me nervous. plus they get some rest before the game and we don't.
for me.. wed26 at New Orealns - W fri28 Sacramento - W sun30 at Miami - L mon31 at Boston - W (close and high-scoring) wed2 at Philly - W fri4 at Minnesota - L (sadly) sun6 L. A Lakers - W wed9 Chicago - L (playign too well, esp. at home) fri11 at indiana - W
im pretty excited about where we stand. 1 GB of LA - Kobe. They are making a valiant stand but expect them to crumble soon. Memphis is the one im worried about as they have almost the same team as last year. hopefully our retooled team can finish them off and win the season series because that might come into play come playoff time. Lakers on decline. Minny on decline Memphis on upswing Rox on big Upswing! J
Yickes if we pull off thoughs wins the Rox will be BIG time contenders. Though i dont think we'll be able to pull it off. The Minne, Boston, Miami, & Sac Town games can go both ways...
I don't know. I think we need one more old player to REALLY compete. Kidding aside, when we don't stink it up we look pretty good. I was realy impressed with the team effort last night. If we could just nab a Defensive PF, I think this team could go places.
Not to mention the Lakers have destroyed us the first 2 meetings and the Bulls are the hottest team in the NBA right now winning 10 of their last 11. That is actually a very tough schedule.
I don't think ROX could rank No.6 after they meet Lakers again. At that time, ROX may be in No.9. With Strickland as backup PG, ROX cannot go anywhere. Essentially JVG has no any ideas about how to run offense.
Yup, it's all on Rod Strickland. We're winning lately despite the efforts of him, Sura, and JVG trying to keep Yao down. That'd be sarcasm.
I don't think Strickland is our backup PG. I think JVG is getting him playing time to see if he is worth keeping around, and to get him back in game shape.
With Wolves behind Rox, to make play offs mean beating out either Grizz or Lakes. (Beware of Clips, too!)
