Like George Jefferson (Google it, kids), the Rox are movin' on up. With the Cavs loss to Chicago tonight, we are mere percentage points behind Cleveland for the third best record in the league. If we win tomorrow's game against the OKC Westbrooks, we'll have third all to ourselves and will be either a game and a half behind San Antonio if they win, or half a game back if they lose. Now to anti-jinx this thread, here's Scottie Pippen's mugshot:
Cavs r just taking it easy so their record does not matter. We should really try our best and take the 2nd seed.
The CAVS are lucky to be able to cruise control through the season being in the EAST since everyone else in that conference is trash compared to them. CAVS know Raptors, Celtics, Bulls, nor Hornets are beating them so they low key all year. Unfortunately Rockets can't do that because they have GS, SA, LAC, MEM, and even UTAH that can be scary to play against.
I still think the Cavs and Warriors are the two top teams in the league. LeBron coasts during the regular season and the always play better than their record in the playoffs. GS is really super friends team. San Antonio - They are so deep but they do seem to be better in the regular season than the playoffs for whatever reason. Losing to the Clippers in the first round, then OKC in the 2nd round this past year. Makes one question. So where does that leave us? To be honest, I really don't know. Because it is really hard to judge a team from regular season play. The glaring things I see is inconsistent defensive effort, and the team still has a tendency to play a very ugly style of basketball during crunch time. Harden's average 7+ turnovers in the last few weeks. I think he hasn't had less than 6 for a stretch. We still have weaknesses, and it's hard to tell how teams would adjust if they had to play us 7 times. So I think we are either 3 or 4. Just one ingredient away - from being able to take down a Cavs or GS team in a 7 games series.
It probably has something to do with them playing against Eastern conf teams. If we are to win it all this year, we'd had to go through Warriors, Spurs and Cavs. They only have to worry about which bang'd up team comes out of the west.
The Cavs have been straight up resting players. Kind of pissed me off when they rested everyone against Memphis and gave away that game. Their record is deceptive as they don't need to win too many games to be first in the east. If Toronto were doing better you'd see some urgency on their part.
