I actually watched "The Shawshank Redemption" for the first time last year. This year I started off with "The Green Mile" and "300" and I can honestly say that I wish I would have watched all of these movies sooner than I had. I about them now with people and they're like "You're just now seeing that?" LOL! What are some on your list? I know there are some more on my list and when I think of those I'll post them.
I still haven't seen the Usual Suspects and I see tons of references to it in books and magazines still.
back in December, I saw Almost Famous for the first time, watching it on TBS at like 2 in the morning that was a FANTASTIC movie, exactly the reason why Jason Lee is one of my favorite Actors
I second Shawshank Redemption... and I really do need to see 300 at some point. I'll probably buy it on Blu-Ray soon-ish. Even though Ed Norton and Avery Brooks are my favorite actors, somehow it took me awhile to see American History X. I was impressed. It also took me quite awhile to see The Man Who Knew Too Little (probably the funniest movie ever, IMO), High Fidelity (sheer brilliance!), and The Power of One (one of my all-time favorite dramas).
O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Garden State i put them off for many years, and finally watched both a couple of months ago. good movies.
Totally agree on Shawshank, I think I saw like the last hour of it on TV once when I was like 12, but I didn't get around to watching it until last year. One of my all time favorites no doubt. Another one would be Gladiator. I didn't see it til about 2 years after it came out. Amazing movie.
"Freddy Got Fingered" is one of the funniest movies I've seen. I wish I would of seen it at the theater.
majority of Jet Li canton movies that was filmed in the late 80s to mid 90s. I watch all his movies, but the western movies kinda suck compare to the canton one which have a heavy focus on comedy and actions rather then just acting "cool" through the whole movie.
pretty much any movie that has come out since 2003. I rarely ever go to the theaters to watch movies, and then I just don't care about renting them once they come out on DVD.
a lot of people hate on that movie. i think its hilarious. think you gotta have tom greens sense of humor to enjoy it. i could see how one could find it over the top or annoying with some of the stuff he does in the movie. but once again, think you just have to like tom green's style to really enjoy the movie.
Amores Perros Give them back, please. No wonder I couldn't follow the story line. We're up to 42 now: NSFW: Spoiler
Taxi Driver and Apocalypse Now I belong to Blockbuster Online and I started mixing in "classic" movies that I've never seen. These 2 are great -- next on my list is to watch The Deer Hunter.
The Deer Hunter. It was on TV at about midnight a couple of years ago. I couldn't stop watching it & stayed up until almost 4am. Had to work the next morning. One of the greatest movies of all time.
