So tonight I get home and turn on the TV and see The Blue Brothers playing on AMC. Having had a few margaritas earlier in the evening, I decide to watch it even though I've seen it a million times. In the process, I realize that I can pretty much quote the whole movie almost word for word. Here are some other movies I can do it with: Spinal Tap Airplane! Office Space The Commitments (fookin' deadly) Animal House Vacation Caddyshack Star Wars There are many others I can quote a lot from, but these are the ones I pretty much know by heart. I mean from start to finish. What about yours?
I've never been able to understand people that are able to do this. I watch a movie and 2 days later can barely remember what it was about. About the only exception is "Office Space" which I've watched about 500 times, but even then I can't quote it line-for-line much. It's rare I watch a movie more than once, though. Office Space being the only exception.
My wife thinks I can do this for all movies, but the one that comes to mind quickest is Raising Arizona.
Dazed and Confused Office Space(you know the nazis made the jews wear peices of flair) Braveheart Half Baked Rushmore oh and.. Clerks
i can quote pee wee's big adventure from start to finish. point break w/ patrick swayzee and keanu reaves. i dont know why, but i love that movie and have probably seen it 50 times. its one of those flicks like triple XXX, where you mock it while watching, but in the end have to say that its pretty entertaining. "i know you want me so bad its like acid in your mouth, but not this time johnny." "im going to go to jail and johnny utah gets his man...but look at it! look at it, man! my whole life has been about this moment. come on compadre. where am i going? theres cliffs on both sides...im not going to paddle to new zealand!"
The Lion King. I loved it as a kid and now I can still remember every single damn word of it. It's crazy. I can recite the entire thing from beginning to end with no prompting whatsoever. Its so f*cking sad, really. I don't know why the hell I'm telling you guys.
the great outdoors. i absolutely loved this as a kid and have watched it so many times. it's my sentimental pick for my favorite movie ever. "what it means, what it means, is that i would like to blow uncle roman out my ass. that's what it means." do you understand what you're mom and i are trying to say? that aunt kate and uncle roman are incredible buttheads? exactly!
