What do you guys think? I think the movie will be good, but this poster doesn't really capture the essence of Batman. It looks more like Bat-Gladiator or the "Passion of the Bat" as some dude at aint it cool posted. It looks like he's coming out at day break instead of night fall.
Really bad poster. Looks like he's moping around about something, and the background does look like sunrise. I guess the sunrise is for the beginning...or something...but not very Batman-ish. The poster should show night-time. Weak poster all-around. I'm still excited about the movie, though. Hopefully it recaptures the darkness of the first Batman.
Considering what this movie is about, it's not really that far off-base. That said, I do see the criticism for going with the 'sunrise' (beginnings) option. Still excited about the movie though.
Dawn of the Batman. That just seems like it would be over the head of the casual movie goer in the theater. Also, since it is Batman, it's just ridiculous to make a poster without some kind of city scape.
In the beginning, God made Batman. And God saw that it was good. Then, lo!, didst God see-eth that Batman had becometh George Clooney in a nipple suit; and didst He cause forty days and nights of rain, and forgotteth we did about new Batman movies. And hark! sunrise! Batman Begins! Rejoicing there was among Internet geeks.....
I wish I had thought of it. I felt tempted to take the credit, but it would be wrong, ie, I know there are people here who read Aintitcoolnews.
You will change your tune on this. Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe and a screenplay that finally does the character justice. This is the Batman they should have made all along. It will make you forget the other ones and, I dare say, every other superhero movie that came before. Six months and change and I can't wait.
If it were up to me, Batman would be still completely in shadow like he is, but with a dark blue sky, a cloud covered moon, and he'd be standing up straight, with the the cape wrapped around him and the wind blowing it forward a little.
Hey Oski its coming up on 2005, when your name will be complete and in all its glory. Got any special plans for the BBS?
Haven't thought about it. I'm supposed to graduate from college in 05. I seriously doubt that 2005 will be the year of the Oski on the bbs though. I'm like role player/6th man in this league.
I think you're gonna start this year. Have some confidence man. At least your not like me being the janitor cleaning up everybody's piss in the damn showers.
Check out this international teaser poster. He still looks kind of depressed. They need a better marketing team on this.
I'm surprised you say this (but I will defer to your Batman expertise). The 1989 Batman with Keaton and Nicholson was fantastic. It's the sequels (after 2) that made a mockery of the franchise.
I like that dark, brooding, depressed emotion that those posters give off. The guy has a lot of demons he has to battle.
