http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=11332 Sandman & Venom played by Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace?!
maybe she's trying to throw people off. i just can't imagine them doing Venom in one of these movies.
Church would be an excellent Sandman. Well, he'd be pretty badass as any villain really ... Topher Grace? Only way I can see that working is if he is Venom. Not the venom I know and want from the comics, but one where he is a rival with Parker, in "real life", as well as in super hero-ing. Actually Topher could be a good Mysterio as well. You don't have to be menacing to do that. I thought that they were going to resolve the goblin saga in the next film. If they aren't, then that makes the ending to part 2 stupid.
they sure set up the goblin thing...no doubt there. maguire and dunst have both said they think this will be the last movie...and it's all they are signed for.
I thought the end of Spiderman 2 set up the end of this lousy franchise. In my opinion, Spiderman 2 was the worst movie of last summer (beating out Chronicles of Riddick by a nose). Whoever they get as a villain, hopefully they don't hire a bunch of r****ded chimpanzees to write the dialogue again...
Tobey probably doesn't want to do a 4th and I know Kirsten has said 3 and that's it, but Sony, the producers, and Raimi are thinking anywhere from 4 to 6 movies. Ugh, Topher Grace as Venom is just stupid. There was a rumor that he was Chameleon, well, that Topher's character would be a disguise the Chameleon uses and he gets close to Peter Parker, maybe under the employ of Harry. They need wrap up the Harry and Peter story in this one and then if they do more, bring in the Lizard for the 4th along with the Venom costume for Peter, though make it man made instead of from space. Then in the 5th one, we can have Venom.
Joker is DC comics, not Marvel. You're probably thinking of the end of Batman Returns. I think both Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace will do an excellent job. I can't wait.
Easy, easy....it's a comic book movie, after all. I think they're doing a great job with it and are doing a fantastic job of adapting the original stories for the big screen. It's not like they pulled a Batman & Robin with it. I was wondering if some form of the Sinister Six would be assembled by Harry's Hobgoblin. It's tricky to try and cram multiple villians in a single movie. Evan
If Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire want to quite after Spiderman 3 that's fine with me. She is a terrible MJ and he is a mediocre Peter Parker at best. The series will probably improve after they leave if the scripts are good. I say this as a Spiderman comic book purist. Dunst and Maguire are decent actors but they are miscast.
huge mistake if they continue without maguire, specifically. first of all..he's Irish. second of all..that guy IS Peter Parker. venom seems too difficult...too far-fetched...too "out there." i think that would be a mistake.
wow..i could not disagree more. and i too am a Spiderman purist...which i believe might be my geekiest title.
Gee. That's too bad, because Tobey McGuire must be getting offers all over the place. This always pisses me off. Whoever signs on to play the part should realize how many villians there are and commit to the entire project. I can kinda see where James Bond needs to be replaced, but 3 Batmans. Please.
Actually, he's a pretty sought-after actor. He's in production of four currently including Spiderman. Considering the vast majority of his films have been dramas and not blockbusters, I can understand his decision. It's rare for an actor to want to portray a single character for years of his life. Good way to get type cast and miss out on other opportunities.
