I know I read this years ago, but I can't remember a thing about it. Anyways, looks like it could be a good movie.

Awesome, I'm shocked I havent heard much about this. This was one of my favorite books as a kid and I just got through reading it to my kids. I'll have to check out who is making this.

Andrew Adamson is directing. He is the same guy who did Shrek and Shrek 2. It looks like this is his first non CG film. If he can make this as fun as Shrek then its a cant miss film. Most of the cast I have not heard of, the only name that sticks out is Rupert Everett.

Yeah, looks like an all-British cast. My bet is that they go for a Harry Potter-esque vibe considering all the success that series has had.

Great series of books as well.

The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe wasn't even the best book of the series and it was great.

I hope they try to make them all.

    From Movies.com:

According to this set-visit report, writers have been hired to start the screenplay for the second installment of the series, Prince Caspian, though Disney will wait to see how the first film performs before officially giving it the green light. If all goes well, it looks like all seven books in the series will get the movie treatment, though some of the books could be combined into a single flick. (ComingSoon.net)

The Silver Chair is without a doubt the best book in the series. They need to make that into a movie.

This movie was C.S. Lewis' attempt to explain how Christianity could have happen in another universe

    (Aslan the Lion = Jesus)

It may not be evident reading the books --- but if you read them knowing that the message is obvious

Warwick Davis better be on again as Reepacheep... you know, the... mouse... with the sword.

Any of you ever read the Redwall books? Those would be cool as CGIs.

I have read all seven books a minimum of fifty times. There is not a bigger Narnia geek then me.

Cant wait for these movies to come out. Oh and my favorite book was easily The Horse and His Boy.

I think most people who have read any of Lewis' other books know that, particularly Screwtape Letters. He was certainly not a traditional or evangelical Christian as evidenced by his later writings which, IMO, allowed him to weave his beliefs into the tapestry of a fantasy book quite effectively.

Which is the first one? I've read that chronologically, it's "The Magician's Nephew," but that was the 6th book written.

LWW was the first book in the series to be published but then MN is where the Narnia story begins.

Yeah, but they are intended to be read in the order they are published, don't you think? Otherwise, you spoil some of the mystery before you get to the others.

Well I've never heard Lewis's take on it, could you post a quote or something?
