If you had to pick one form of entertainment would you rather see your favorite movie or play your favorite video game.
Movie! Most video games end with me severly brusing my hand or spitting on the television. Movies dont' tend to have that same effect.
The DVD Clear Picture Pause Feature... helping losers cleary see what they are masturbating to since 1997.
OMG that is the worst game I have ever seen. I bet it sold about 3 copies. All to the developers family members. CK
You should check out today's games. GTA: Vice City allows you to buy a strip club and a porno studio. You can guess what goes on in those places. I believe in Dead To Rights, one of the characters is a stripper, that seems pretty cool. BMX XXX has a feature where you can unlock videos of Strippers from Scores. That made me laugh because last night, while watching Braveheart, a friend of mine who is equally infatuated with Sophie Marceau, was bragging about how he knows the exact moment to pause in "The World is not Enough" to see Sophie nude.
Movies are what cured my insomnia, so I have a special little place in my heart for them. Due to my ADD, I am unble to sit and watch an entire movie. I get bored or forget what the hell the plot was, become lost, thus I fall asleep.
I've never been a big movie buff, so I'll put in a vote for video games. I think it's a control thing. I can turn off a video game whenever I want, but with a movie, I know going into it that I'm going to have to sit there and watch it for 2 hours. Still haven't seen LOTR, Spiderman or any of the new Star Wars flicks.
It makes you wonder how movies might embrace or fear the video game. About 60% of americans own a video game system (entertainment magazine). The games provide an immersion that movies cannot provide. And although they don't have good plots just yet, there's no reason to think they won't start having more complex plots and production value. Movies could be in trouble unless they embrace the technology.
In my experience, video games take the cake with no hesitation. My favorite type of games are RPGs which are basically movies that you play. They have good stories and characters who interact with each other. Also, somewhat like a DVD, most have extra endings or secret stuff. My favorite series has to be the Final Fantasy series. Every game could win an oscar had it been a movie. The last one, FFX, was very much like a movie, even with voice actors and an ending that was a little sad. It always puzzles me why the Final Fantasy movie was so bad because the games would be GREAt had they been movies. (one of the reasons why there ended up being a movie, I think.) IMO, games are like a blend of books and movies. They have the long, in depth story of a book with the visuals and now voice acting that are in movies. Take away video games and I will die...ok...maybe not....but I'll be unhappy.
Eeeekkkk!!! *getsmartnow has massive heart attack and collapses onto his keyboard* fsddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
All the Final Fantasy's, both Chrono's, Xenogears, Zelda's on nintendo and SNES, uh....Star Ocean 2...both Suikodens, Summoner, Dark Cloud, Kingdom Hearts....that's about all I can think of right now. I have played plenty more. (I don't know if this was a serious question, but I felt like thinking of past RPGs.)
My favorite RPG's... 1. Chrono Cross 2. Final Fantasy 7 3. Final Fantasy Tactics 4. Chrono Trigger 5. Final Fantasy 5 6. Final Fantasy Although they aren't exactly traditional RPG's (more like action RPG's), King's Field 1, King's Field 2, and King's Field: The Ancient City are also some of my favorite video games ever. If you haven't heard of the King's Field series, check out King's Field: The Ancient City, since that's the only one on PS2. The others were early PS1, and only ran at 15-20 fps. Pretty ugly. Fun, but ugly.
I think I played one of them on PS1. It was ok, but I didn't go very far into it. I may try out the newer one...except I still have to try some of the other RPG's that came out sort of recently. Stupid basketball taking up all my time.
