anybody watched this movie? what a huge disappointment (for me at least) I was expecting this movie to be much more than an action movie
yeah it blew, but Pau Gasol was a better actor than i thought. it wouldve been better if we didnt already know from the preview that it wasn't the president who got shot....
i refuse to see this movie because i got fed-up with the freaking preview every single time i went to a movie.
yeah i just got back from watching it i guess I'll add tags for my rant Spoiler the whole rewind thing and showing the clock hit noon 4-5 times in a row got really lame after the second time. also i dont like how they never really said who the terrorist group was. they didnt look moroccon they were speaking spanish. what did matt fox's character do? was he part of the the group who was working his way up to be a secret service agent or was he a agent turned rogue because of money? that wasnt even explained at all. it sounded like when he was dying that he said you werent going to stop "us" and that he was tired of leading a double life so i think he always part of them, but never will find out. oh and saying the president wasnt shot was a poor move by them in the trailer and what did forrest whitaker's character have to do with the entire movie? besides filming the incident...c'mon now chasing after the guy when the service is already chasing after them? and he ends up in the right place there at the end and the girl seemingly finds her way to that intersection after being what looked like blocks away with the cop? and speaking of pau...he was part of the group but then he was betrayed now at what point did he realize that? he kept screaming that they were in danger when the service seized him but like he should have known that before i mean why did he stay after giving the chick the bomb? why did he rush the stage? oh and why was the camera man shot? maybe i wasnt listening carefully to what the lady said before she shot him. to anyone who hasnt seen it I would say wait till the dvd/blu-ray is out to rent.
exactly! when i first saw it, i uttered, "wtf? did they just give that away?" sort of like the previews of WHAT LIES BENEATH and T:2. Except, the former was somewhat entertaining and the latter became one of the best movies of our lifetime.
Spoiler They shot the camera man to "tie up loose ends." I think while they were driving the ambulace and saw Pau. And the main guy said "we have to tie up all loose ends." Then the lady kills the cameraman
People were groaning (a few might have booed) when I watched it. It was an interesting concept that bombed cause people have short attention spans. Spoiler Anyone else think the chick got progressively worse looking? The first time you see her in the Plaza you're like "damn lucky Pau Gasol look alike" but by the end you're like what was I thinking?
Spoiler you know that even makes me more upset why even have that character in the movie then i dont really see what exactly his role did in the overall scheme of things. he could have been a lookout I guess filming around but he kept filming the protesters not the snipers on the roof or anything. and if he was part of their cause why kill him then? see terrible they didnt explain anything what the terrorist group was doing and why. the more i think about it the more i am starting to really dislike this movie
I saw it and thought it was a good movie for what it was. It's a popcorn movie that won't win any Oscars. Why does everyone expect a life changing experience every time they go to the movies now? It was a decent movie and that's it. Any high expectations you had are your own fault, are they not? I do agree, however, that it was a huge mistake to reveal in the trailer that it wasn't really the President.
The thing that bothered me the most about the movie was Spoiler The little girl. If she stays with the police lady, the film falls flat on its face. Instead she leaves to find her mom and then runs into a busy street with speeding cars for whatever reason God only knows. I was hoping someone would hit her for being so stupid in the first place. But nooooo, the ambulance that happens to have the prez, does its best to not hit her. Inside I was yelling "Hit the little idiot!!!".
Well, from the commercials and as much as they hyped up to the movie you'd think it was gonna be movie of the century. I wanted to see this, but from reading reviews looks like I'll pass.
They do that to every movie. I've seen numerous previews for that new Martin Lawrence movie. That must mean it's going to change the face of cinema forever!!!
It was def worth the money for sure, it was intense and very interesting. A fresh way to present its plot, and i liked how the truth came out a little more off every vantage point... Good movie!
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but I didn't see nearly that many commercials for the Martin movie. That and from the commercial you could tell it's stupid. The Vantage Point commercials actually looked good.
Spoiler What a horrible ending. Basically, the secret service got completely lucky that this terrorist group that blew up tons of innocent people in a plaza swerved to avoid killing a little girl. Nothing the SS dude did helped; had the good guy not been at the van, eventually the President would have been found by local police anyway. The crazy car chase was pretty irrelevant and didn't need to last 15 minutes or whatever it was. And apparently, they were just driving in circles the whole time, because that little girl walked to that intersection, meaning it was pretty damn close to the plaza. Entertaining for parts of the movie; great concept; horrible, horrible execution. It felt like they ran out of ideas and were thinking "how the hell do we end this movie now?" and just came up with a ridiculous ending so they could finish the movie.
