This movie is getting a lot of buzz. Awesome cast and some perfect reviews are already out by empire and such. Based on the Mini Tv Series with Alec Guinness. Gary Oldman might get some award recognition for this.

Look totally interesting. It's the same director(Tomas Alfredson) that directed that great Swedish movie Let the Right One In.

I loved the novel (George Smiley is a great character) and the miniseries that was based upon it. The DVD is hard to find, but it's well worth tracking it down. Thanks for posting this. Seems it won't disappoint old fans.

Possible supporting actor nods, but redundant genre prevents it from being an original story, and doesn't appeal to women in any way, so no best film consideration.

I feel like you are strongly stereotyping women here.

    It's not cool.

The word is Gary Oldman is an Oscar lock. I will definitely see.

So glad we're entering the films for grown ups season.

I haven't seen it, but it has a 8.8 average on IMDB which is pretty high.

All male, middle- and senior-aged characters doing spy stuff in the '50s or '60s? I think I'm making some decent hypotheses about women's possible tastes here. I bet film distributors, market research guys, publicists and a few of the casts' managers and agents made some demographics assumptions when developing and marketing the project.

To be fair, women do like gossip and fitting in, so if it gets good word of mouth, they'll probably watch it. And it's a spy movie, which means lots of lying.

Some of us have rather vivid memories of the Cold War. I'm really looking forward to seeing this. Oldman has always been an underappreciated actor, who is undeniably brilliant. I hope this gets him his nod from the Academy.

Only 5 reviews but so the Tomatometer doesn't mean much right now but it's not hard to be convinced this will be a success considering the talent.

It might have a earlier release in limited theaters. Probably gonna have to look around.
