Seriously that's the working title...I had no idea this even existed until now. But it's not surprising considering all the other franchises that have been brought back recently.

And from the script review it looks like it may even be funny.

Clever title. I'd see it just for the OJ jokes.

    Your breath?

Don't hold it waiting for this movie to show up at your local multiplex.

    Or video store shelves.

Well I wouldn't be shocked at all if we did see it, especially considering we've seen restarts on Rocky, Rambo, Indy, Terminator...we've seen a reboot of the Hulk only a few years after Ang Lee's version. We've seen remakes of Halloween, Friday the 13th, Texas Chansaw, Last House. So it would make sense that Hollywood would be interested in bringing back Naked Gun, although the sequels weren't as popular as the original and Leslie Nielson is pretty old now.

But I'd say the real justification for seeing this franchise return is because of Scary Movie, Date, Movie, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie and all those other wannabe spoofs. Every single Naked Gun put those inferior products to shame, even if 33 1/3 was only average at best. I'd love to see a decent, semi-intelligent spoof that doesn't just rely on pup culture gags.

But yeah it's too bad that most likely this film will never be made, and if it is, it'll show up on video shelves only.

Lol, man that'd be sweet to see again.

Why do you think it won't be made?

I don't remember the last time I saw a good spoof. As special effects have gotten better, standards have gone waaayy down in other regards. Leslie Neilsen cannot do worse than what we've got already. OJ jokes would be a prerequisite!

At the bottom of the article it does say the script was moved to Paramount's DVD division. I hope it doesn't just get shoved onto a shelf...Naked Gun deserves better.

I am not at liberty to say.

It could still get made, but the process by which this has come about and knowing some of the behind-the-scenes info does not fill me with confidence that it will ever see the light of day.
