I want to take my girlfriend to see Knocked Up tonight, but I absolutely detest going to movie theatres on weekend nights due to the "high school thug wannabe" factor. Frankly, I don't like going to theaters ever because of idiots, cellphones, crying babies, etc. Too many distractions. There's a Movie Tavern in Humble. Anyone ever been to one of these? Is it much different from the regular movie theatres? Good or bad experiences? Are people under 21 allowed in? Are babies allowed?
I haven't been to that one, but I go to the Studio Movie Grill in Addison all time...I like it a whole lot better than the regular theaters because of the seating and food/drinks...They do let children under 18, but its typically an older crowd...
i've never been but my brother swears by those theatre type places...but thats just b/c they serve beer.
Best theaters on earth! At the Alamo Drafthouses babies only allowed on certains/times and it's posted. Not one in Humble though. http://www.drafthouse.com/
Not sure about the Humble location, but one on 45 and Richey is sup par. The seats are office chairs with wheels and the sound and picture quality is not so good. I will say the food is good and beer and wine isn't overpriced.
I can never go back to a regular movie theater after going to Alamo here in Austin. Food, beer and a flick. Can't beat it. there are 2 in Houston (Mason Rd., & West Oaks).
The one I have been to is on Richey Road and i45. That one is HORRIBLE! It wasn't that bad when it first opened, but now its full of idiots who cant shut the **** up during a movie. The kind of audiences that laugh at the wrong moments and cant shut up during the rest of the movie. Its so damn annoying. The seats squeak and are uncomfortable and the service is sub par. I haven't tried the Humble location, but I just stick to Edwards or AMC, even though the people there arent much better. If you dont want to hear people talking, babies crying, and cell phones ringing then go to the movies during the week like around 5pm. OR go to the Angelika downtown, people there have respect for movies and for other people.
yes, unfortunately that is the problem. plus who the HELL drinks alcohol during a freakin movie! you gotta be ****tin me, is alcoholism really that bad nowadays?
That's like an hour away. Any other drive-in's left in Houston? The one on 45 is long gone, I thought.
It's pretty cool. I've been during the week and the food pretty decent, considering it's a theater. The only thing that might play a part is somebody that has too much to drink. If that happens, update us.
