Well we've never really seen the technology advance in the franchise, so it doesn't seem too far fetched they'd be flying the same or similar ships. And someone mentioned that, if anything, technology has devolved over the course of the series. Look at the ships and weaponry in the prequels compared to the originals. We don't know the state of galaxy in the years after the emperor was defeated. It could have taken quite a long time to defeat the remnants of the empire, just like the empire found it difficult and ultimately impossible to eliminate the rebels. Resources might have been scarce for technology to drastically evolve. And it's a teaser trailer. It's possible we've only seen the tip of the iceberg. Probably even smart to introduce the new cast and surround them with familiar and iconic imagery.
It's amazing how much he dropped the ball on Phantom Menace and how much of it comes off as a stand alone film. And also how obvious the mistakes were that he failed to see them.
Anyone know where I could find the original trilogy online (not the special editions some have talked about here) I've never seen them and this trailer has really peaked my interest.
I'm not a super Star Wars geek, but aren't all of the troopers clones? Which would make all of the troopers black?
Since the clone wars stated they are all clones of Jango Fett, they are technically of Māori, Scottish, and Irish descent...
They were the 'Clonetroopers'. I believe the story is that once the Empire took over complete control, it became much like an army with people joining up as 'Stormtroopers'. Han Solo was supposedly an Imperial pilot who deserted the Empire.
Did anyone consider that the black guy might be undercover? Or... Since the empire has fallen... They aren't using clones anymore?
I thought the storm troopers were Pacific Islanders... which would make them closer to Asian? Maybe Jerry Lin can shed some light on this matter.
You're what, 27? And you haven't seen them? So weak, man. So weak. What sucks for you is you might never see the original original films, because George Lucas went in and added all sorts of r****ded CGI when he re-released the original trilogy in the late 90s and early 2000s. (See here.)
