Anyone else go see this tonight on its opening night? I wanted to go see 40 Year Old Virgin, but a group of friends had all already seen it, so we decided to see this since they are all waiters (though I am not). I checked out the Yahoo preview before hand and expected little from it after seeing a D- rating from the critics and a B- from public. Well, guess what...this is the funniest movie I've seen since "Old School". However, you will only like it if you like dirty humor...and a lot of it. It's not completely senseless though...none of it came off as lame which a lot of movies like this do. I'll stop there so I don't spoil anything...though there's not much to spoil. BTW stand up comedian Dane Cook plays a supporting role in the movie.
Good. I was planning on taking my girlfriend to see it on Monday (our 1 year) . Now hopefully the theater I took her to the night I asked her out is playing it. We'll love the dirty humor.
It was alright... some really funny moments, but I could have done without the back story of "finally growing up". If you are going to be a slacker comedy, stick to it.
It was a funny movie, but it took me about 45minutes for my first laugh to occur. It really started out slow in my oppinion, but was very funny.
I know this is an old thread, but I finally saw this movie last week and I laughed my ass off. The Game was outstanding. "Oh, it's so veiny!" "I can't believe how many homos we have working here!" Ryan Reynolds is funny, but really only in his own brand of sarcastic, quippy humor. Monty's character was perfect for him. The rest of the cast was good too, particularly the cooks. I understand that the purpose of the manager was to be annoying and provide the antagonist to all the waiters/waitresses, but DAMN he was way too good at it. I wanted to punch him in the face every time he was on screen.
My favorite movie of last year. I actually think Waiting is funnier than Wedding Crashers, even after buying the DVD's and watching them both multiple times.
I agree, I actually put Wedding Crashers as the 3rd most funny movie of 2005... well, now that i think about it I put it 4th. 1. Waiting 2. 40 Year Old Virgin 3. Just Friends 4. Wedding Crashers I'm just a sucker for Ryan Reynolds, the dude is brilliant. Dane Cook and Luis Guzmán just added to the hilarity of Waiting.
Very funny movie!!! Best lines: "So you're the coolest guy at Shenaniganz, big f**king deal! That's like being the smartest person with Down Syndrome!" "Its so angry!" "Oh GOD does that thing have its shots? Put it away! Just put it away!"
Ryan Reynolds is pretty much awesome. Plus he's hot. Yeah I said it. I'm comfortable enough with my heterosexuality to compliment the looks of another man.
HE IS HOT!!!! So what is he doing with Alanis Morrisette????? There isn't a movie he's made that I have haven't liked.
Just Friends was freaking hilarious! It isn't out on DVD yet but I think it is still in some dollar movies, it was in the Webster dollar movies about 2 weeks ago. Ryan Reynolds in a fat suit singing boys to men to the camera.... freaking classic!
I finally saw this last month. It was a pretty good movie. I guess I was a little disappointed because my coworkers was saying it was one of the best movies ever. Funny, but the ending was kinda ehh... I thought of it as Clerks at a restaraunt. Just Friends is HILARIOUS. Honestly, I was surprised that it was PG-13. I never thought a PG-13 comedy these days could be that good Ryan Reynolds singing "I Swear" in his fat suit and braces is PRICELESS!!!
