I haven't seen this, but want to despite the reviews, hoping for hereditary genius based on the director's father. Was Surveillance, for lack of a better word, truly Lynchian? Or a pale imitation, as the reviews I read suggested? On a related note, for anyone who has seen it, was Boxing Helena any good? The reviews for it are generally terrible, but I was hoping it had sort of a cult classic appeal. I had a mad, mad cherry stem crush on Sherilyn Fenn's character on Twin Peaks... Cherry stem scene! All my yammering about "post-feminist allegory" this & that didn't hold much sway; it was deemed "too creepy." By the time I was old enough to drive to the video store by myself, I'd lost interest. I know that it's reputation had pretty much killed Lynch's daughter's career, dead in its tracks, in her debut movie. She really hasn't done anything at all 'till Surveillance, right?
I was expecting this in the movie recommended column, but seeing you've created this as it's own thread merits my curiosity and will netflix this on the top of my queue...
