Disappointed Houston isn't one of the select cities to have it...so I guess we have to demand it. http://www.paranormalactivity-movie.com/index.html <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F_UxLEqd074&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F_UxLEqd074&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
I predict it will come to Houston... and there will be at least a 4 page thread of people expressing disappointment over it, with a few people saying, "eh, i liked it."
I dunno it reminds of the half-dozen ghost hunting shows on tv these days. I think I'm more interested in The Fourth Kind, which is supposed to be based on actual events.
Almost positive The 4th Kind isn't http://www.examiner.com/x-22738-New...009m9d5-The-real-story-behind-The-Fourth-Kind
Yeah I just saw that in the other thread...oh well. I'll probably watch both at some point, but Paranormal Activity seems a bit like Blair Witch, which I hated. But at the same time, I enjoy watching those ghost hunting shows from time to time (and those are probably scripted too).
Don't know if its because I haven't seen a scary movie documentary style in a while but this movie scared the crap out of me but fun at the same time! It also has a 93% rottentomatoes.com rating.
holy crap what a movie. i'm going to bed a little uneasy tonight... definitely a must see if you can make it out at midnight.
It was fun. I'm not effected by that stuff, so I wasn't scared throughout, but there was good timing on the jump scenes, about 3 to 5 really good jump scenes. A few stupid things of the "why would you do that?" variety, but overall a solid movie.
Holy crap, freaking scary.. freaking scary. and I'm a huge horror fan and I never get scared. This movie is definitely horror of the year. Awesome job directors. The only other movies to ever scare me were Excorcist when I was 6 years old and It(yes im ashamed to say it because its funny rather then scary but i was a kid then) when i was 7 or 8 or 9 i forgot.
I really hate jump scare flicks. I'm more of a fan of psychological horror/thrillers. Is this not my kind of movie?
Yeah, for now there's only a midnight showing at Dunvale (AMC 30). But I read that there will be a much wider release on Oct 9, with showings throughout the day. On a side note, people were RUNNING to leave the theater because of the creepiness.
Yeah Im more of the thriller/horror lover but this is more of a demonic you will feel fear type of movie. ^^ and yeah this couple were sitting at the theatre and the girl was grabbing her husband/fiance/boyfriend saying 'im so scared!!' and he was like 'what do you want me to do? Im freaking scared too!'
The scene in the trailer when the sheets move with the couple in bed is excellent psychological horror -- movie looks like it is well done.
No, this isn't Sixth Sense (psychological scary). But then again it's not The Hills Have Eyes (blood & gore scary) either. In a nutshell it's The Blair Witch Project, but with recordings of a house/couple that's experiencing paranormal activity. Pretty straightforward.
Yeah its all a psychological horror theres no gore or anything, messes with your mind type scary. \ On a crazy note they made the film for 15,000$.. THATS UNREAL
This movie is a combo of good jump scenes and also good psychological stuff. So it has a little bit of everything for everyone. The pacing and development is pretty good too. So overall, it's good, acted well enough and believable enough. I also have to add that in addition to the jumps, it also made the hair on the back of my neck stand on at least two occasions. And again, I'm not easily made uncomfortable by the paranormal stuff, so this is pretty good in my eyes.
