Went to the Houston premier (and director's q&a) of this movie last night. It gets a nationwide 3-day release next week. That I'm starting a thread doesn't mean my endorsement of the movie, so watch at your own risk. Its not exactly killing it with reviews. But, it was shot in Central/East Texas, including in Brenham, Splendora and Conroe, so I thought I'd do this much for them. It's a sort of gory but family-friendly horror comedy with a quaint 80s B movie vibe and some more contemporary feeling fun-poking at wokism and gen z. It's campy with a ridiculous and trite premise, and plenty of not credible development, along with some hot girls (who keep their clothes on) and some pretty decent dialogue writing. If you go in with right-sized expectations, you might be able to enjoy yourself. I watched it not knowing what at all to expect but I didn't pay for the ticket which makes me less judgmental.
